sakora
@RyanPBaskett - I understand your frustration when it comes to learning how to port armors over, using the CK and how to update mods for SE. I myself has spent many hours reading, learning, and playing with the CK to get the results I want. These are the base steps for porting over any Armor mod from Oldrim to SE, not all armors always port over correctly and I typically will have a look in the mesh files (.nif) should I be having any issues with it. HDT Physics for example doesn't work in SE a lot of the armors port over without issues. Quick Guide on how to port it over: Download Bethesda Archive ExtractorDownload SSE Nif Optimizer Download your armor mod (Manually, not with NMM) - save it to your desktop Extract the .zip file -> Once extracted; delete file downloaded .zip file or move to a different directory on your computer Open up B.A.E. Browse to the file (Black Sacrament Armor) on your desktop Drag and Drop the .bsa file into B.A.E Click Extract - Set the location to the Desktop\Black Sacrament Armor Once the files have been extracted, Browse to the Black Sacrament Armor file -> Delete the .bsa file [it is no longer needed] Open SSE Nif Optimizer - Browse to the Desktop\Black Sacrament Armor -> Meshes [Click Select Folder] -> Optimize Archive the folder (make into a .zip) *Note* - When I name my conversions mine look like "XYZ-PSE.zip" (Ported Special Edition) Open Nexus Mod Manager - or any other Mod Organizer -> Install and activate. Now I haven't experienced any troubles running Oldrim .esp's with SE - you could try to load up the game and look/search/additem If for some reason the items arent showing up, you may need to update the .espOpen up SE CKClick Data -> Select the Black Sacrament Armor.esp (likely at the bottom) -> Set as Active FileOnce the CK has loaded - Filter -> BSarmorRight Click - > Edit [Any file that comes up with BSarmor -> The editor will open, just click OK (you don't need to edit anything)]Save (either using the little Save disk Icon, or File -> Save *After this I recommend Save and Push to PC (either button or via File menu)File -> Exit [For me, if I just click the X button to close the CK for some reason it's as if my file didnt save and have to redo everything in the CK]Things that complicate porting: npc's - If the mod contains npc's you will need to open it in the CK - find the NPC's that are added -> Edit (no change needed, just hit OK) and save, save push plugin to PC- If you don't update the NPC's for SE when you try to talk to the NPC ingame it will crash. sakora
Somehow, by some miracle I actually got the armors working in the new game, by just following that guide to the letter, but there were a lot of places that just make no sense when following the instructions step by step. So, now the armors are working in SE but I'd be willing to bet I wouldn't be able to do that again since I have no idea what I did in the first place. Short of there being a video guide for step by step what every instruction is and what every result should look like, porting mods to the new game is a huge hassle. It took me all day just to get this one right. If I ever do become a mod author, mods like these are prime examples of what I will NOT be following. I value my reputation and I would as an author of content. Thank you for all of those who actually provided assistance and not snark or sass. Yes I found a lot of tutorials simply over worded and confusing to follow (at first) but after spending time working on a number of armors / mods and revisiting porting tutorials they make more sense. In hind sight I should have proof-read my guide a bit better, I can see where some parts would be confusing coming from a place of being new to modding. If there are any spots that are giving you trouble, or you would like further help feel free to send me a pm. spookymunky
If you value your reputation then I am afraid you are off to a bad start, here are some tips from someone that doesn't really care a huge amount about their own  If you are looking for help then try and be as nice as you possibly can, and refrain from judging someone else in the community that you are trying to get help from as being unprofessional and lazy when you have no idea who that person is or what they have gone through. It has been 5 years since this mod was released, a lot of crazy things can happen to someone in that amount of time on this silly little rock hurtling through space. Make sure you have exhausted all of the amazing resources available to you (including ya brain) for figuring out how to do something on your own before asking other people for help. e.g. Try typing into google "how to install creation kit skyrim special edition" before asking for a guide. Or, better yet, just explore the menus until you see it. If you ever feel that you have to include a line like "I apologize if I sound like an ass" in a post, then maybe it's time to take a step back and delete all that you have written so far, then try again while paying particular attention to not sounding like an ass. If you yourself can realise that what you are writing might come across that way then don't be surprised when other people see exactly the same thing, and respond as if they were indeed talking to an ass. If you feel like a guide that someone has taken time out of their life to write in an effort to help others (without a guide of their own to follow in the case of the nexus wiki) is lacking, then spend some time researching and experimenting with the subject, figure out as much as you can about it and then write a new guide / tutorial to help others instead of complaining about it... Or, you know, just spend 5secs looking for a different answer. As for becoming a mod author (or getting anywhere in life) then you will need to get used to not having a helping hand through a lot of this, learn how to enjoy the challenge of figuring things out on your own, no matter how hard it seems at the time, or how long it takes. The more you use your brain for problem solving instead of relying on the world to spoon feed you the answers, the better and more efficient it gets at learning new things and adapting to new situations, to the point that (hopefully) some day you will wonder what ever held you back in the first place. Also, seriously try not to burn any bridges with the people that could be the only ones on this planet that may have the answer to a future issue you might have before you even get started. Best o luck to ya! P.S. to sakora, have you thought about creating a topic about converting oldrim files for the mod requests forum ? You have a knack for wording things good , so it will probably become pinned and possibly cut down on some of these kinds of requests and frustrations some people seem to have? spookymunky
lol, wow... I'm not sure even where to start... How is throwing your toys out of the pram (in three different threads I have noticed so far, one started by yourself that strangely disappeared) because you couldn't figure out how to convert one single mod to SSE bringing honest and direct feedback to anyone, especially when said mod author is no longer around to hear it. All it smells of to me is you really wanting this mod for some reason, and being too lazy to figure out how to get it on your own you lost your cool... that is the reputation you now have in my mind. What was it you said on one thread ?.. if the mod author is no longer around then the file's ownership should automatically be transferred to the people or something ? You do realise that this site would be dead within a few months if they ever tried to insert rules of ownership onto mod authors creations anywhere in the T&C, no ? So how exactly is that bringing light to a subject that people would like to let slip into the dark void of space, rather than just a poorly thought out argument. Your other option was that they should take their mod down before leaving the nexus haha, sigh Ryan, you do realise skyrim is still a game in it's own right, with probably more users on the nexus than SSE ? These mods aren't broken because you can't play them in special edition, they still work perfectly fine for countless people. And they still work for anyone that is willing to google / look on youtube (all I had to do was type "port skyrim" or something btw, it auto-filled the rest, lol) for a solution in SSE, so what is the issue exactly ? What is your noble fight, what is the perfect solution ? You would rather have old mods being thrown through the gates of oblivion so no-one else can possibly enjoy them in the future simply because you couldn't figure something out and it made you angry, way to stick it to the man and fight for the people! I personally agree that all mods should be available for everyone to use as they see fit, and anything I have released, and will ever release in the future is free for anyone to do so as they wish as long as they ask before putting it anywhere but the nexus. But then I am a bit of a hippy , and as such I respect the fact that every single person has the right to put as many restrictions as they want on files they have taken time out of their life not only to create, but to then share it with such lovely people as yourself. To try and force my own view onto the community would be an attempt at turning it into a socialist/communist state :D Anyway, I have to go out and get drunk now hehe, hopefully won't be back till tomorrow or so. If you have a insanely witty comeback please don't see it as a victory that boosts your already slightly out of proportion self view when I don't respond hehe. Have a good day / night etc
PrincessAmysDragons
On behalf of my dear friend Ryan I will be finishing his involvement in this post. You see, Ryan is a member of Amy's Dragons and I can't speak for Ryan's personal reputation, but Amy's Dragons has a much larger scope of reputation to maintain than to respond to childishness. This conversation has already gone further than it should have and I can assure you that this will be the last response to this from our group. What I can tell you for certain is that the picture you've painted of Ryan here is not at all what he is like in real life. Do with that whatever you want, but we are absolute in the clarity of our intentions when dealing with others. In this case, Ryan has resolved this issue, on his own none the less. He put in that effort you were mentioning before because that is how Amy's Dragons do things. And now with that I think we will be leaving this subject indefinitely where it stands as this has become no longer suitable for representation of Amy's Dragons.Sincerely, Princess Amy,Amy's Dragons Edited October 30, 2017 by PrincessAmysDragons
RyanPBaskett
I do apologize for what had been said before on my behalf. I was indeed frustrated about the mod but as was suggested, I did the work to get the mod working. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Thanks for those who actually provided assistance.
