Can I skip "Here lies the abyss" somehow?

Everytime I start the quest "Here lies the abyss", the game crash after loading of the quest beginning. (It's the quest to take down the wardens' fortress.)

Anybody here knows the solution or can I skip the quest somehow?

No you can't it's part of the main quest.

Assuming you have mods, you can try temporarily removing them.

Relocate the

Patch_ModManagerMerge

Folder, by simply moving it outside the games folders.

 

First, you will most likely have to edit this Vanilla patch text file, in the game, using your Text Editor, Notepad if you have nothing better, like Notepad++.

../Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch\package.mft

Contents should be like this

Name patch
Authoritative
Version 12

Compare that to the same file in your mod Merge

../Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch_ModManagerMerge\package.mft

That should look like this

Name patch
Authoritative
Version 13
ModManager v0.59 alpha

Whatever the Mod Merge version is, needs to be what the game patch version becomes.

Usually that's what I have, and the vanilla patch needs to be v13, to load the save.

 

Try to get past the crash, which is generally cut scene related, loading issues, that this trick fixes.

Once past the crash point, save the game, replace the mod folder, and change the Vanilla Patch's package.mft, back to v12, or whatever it was.

Reload the game, and continue.

 

This is known to work with several loading bugs, including the Black Emporium, when mods are used (probably more than a few).
