Madness

These are all from a journal i found,in a stored box, from a much younger and idealistic me.I think i was 20 or there about.

The king has swallowed the bitter poison
The queen is out of thyme
A lawyer's in the kitchen
trying to make a rhyme
The jester captures dawn
in the instance of her birth
In solemn retribution
she steals away his mirth
And the light from the candles flicker
throwing shadow shapes to and fro
In the night my visions give me cause to wonder
what is the meaning of it all.

In a dark land, not too far away,he lies

Benumbed by that which he sees as real

Belittled by his own persecution

How is it that such a man should lie there blinded by the darkness

I know not

for the darkness lies only in his experience

The light is but an attitude away

He reaches out only to stumble

swept up in a maelstrom of false interpretations and fantasies

The darkness is not too far away

he must realize the folly and know that it is his

Guilt to contend

Words to obey

Robbers of men

That's what they say

Red eyed zombies

Seeking cures for old wounds

Momentary truths

Stretching out of tune

Lives breathing harder

Souls touching bottom

Thought a martyr

Reminiscent of Sodom

Sporadic justice

Dreaming in the wind

Summer solstice

Shall we feel it's grin

The Lone Ranger saved the day

Zorro made his mark

Everything was magic after dark

The world kept spinning

The heroes kept winning

Our minds were small

We believed it all

We didn't worry or care

The yellow brick road would take us there

Now we know without a doubt

I feel i need to shout

It was all a lie

There's no pie in the sky

Superman can't even fly

It was all a lie

Crossing the river of uncertainty

I stand naked on the edge of desision

Burdened by the weight of expectancy

Weary of the trials of doubt and suspicion

I seek a path

Through mountains of glass

My feet are bare

I know not where

to step

The words of a fool

Flow fruitlessly forward

Only to drown in the rain

The songs of a temptress

Trills timidly toward the object of her pain

The depravity that we share is just an empty chair

A dreary song we were forced to sing

Sometimes does it seem

Life is lived best in dreams

Sitting by the firelight

Fantasizing all is right

I know a little tune

And if i see you soon

I'll sing it to you once or twice

I hope you will find it nice

Roxy

Standing by the door

Wanting more

Of what?

She's not quite sure

They've teased and abused her

Ridiculed and used her

That was before

Her time has come

When she's done

You'll know she won

She'll demand her rights

If she has to,put up a fight

She has seen the light

I miss you girl...
