JosephSarin
Greetings Nexus, So I've been playing Skyrim for the past several weeks for the first time (first time I've played an Elder Scroll game in general as well) and I love how it has such a large modding userbase like the Star Wars KOTOR games I was a modder back in the day. I especially like how users have gone out of their way to make patches for the seemingly endless bugs and errors within this game for OCD completionist people like me. I highly doubt I'd still be playing Skyrim if it wasn't for all these Nexus mods that fix up the game programming. I've seem to have found the majority of the major Skyrim errors and bugs covered now; save one... I've basically have had to play this game with a wiki page on standby when I enter a new area or am about to do something for bug checks. One problem/bug I see that seems to happen a lot for people is "missing children" from the Hearthfire DLC; specifically Lucia and Sophie (the two 'homeless' children you can adopt). I've looked high and low for either a guaranteed method using console coding to fix if they ever go missing OR a mod here on Nexus that solves this problem either by bugfixing or a loophole to fix if it ever happens. Both options I've seem to been unable to locate a way or mod to solve this problem. I don't plan on adopting any of the other kids nor adopt Lucia/Sophie until I can guarantee that they just won't go *poof* and I have to roll back countless hours of gameplay to fix the problem, so does anyone know if there's a mod that solves this missing child issue OR a fool-proof code via console that can I guess 'reset' them or 'refresh'? If there isn't I think I'd be so bold as to recommend this idea to be made into a mod potentially as it seems to be a common issue with Skyrim. My modding experience is mostly with old Bioware games like KOTOR/DAO so I'm not sure I could do it myself, but one thing I did in the past comes to mind for a simple way to fix this. Back when I modded KOTOR I made a gizka that always followed you as a joke mod for a friend, and I implemented a kind of "summon/refresh" infinite use item that forced the gizka to relocate right next to the player for when it got stuck somewhere (glares at Taris Undercity). I don't think it would be too hard for a kind of summoning item like a spell or scroll that can be used to force-refresh Lucia/Sophie...that is assuming the bug that makes them just up and dissappear doesn't completely remove them from the games coding. Thank you for anyone who's reading this and I hope someone knows a way to fix these two kids so I can start being a dad in Skyrim.
