cyronarxes
One of my favorite games of all time is no doubt operation flashpoint. This game is years old (2000/2001) so many may not know of it. Anyways, this game in my opinion was far beyond its years. In addition to large variety of vehicles, weaponry, large landscapes, and advanced AI, there was the story line. The 50 level campaign of OF was in my opinion brilliant. The dialauge, storyline, and drama was beyond equal. Furthermore, the expansion Operation flashpoint resistance further added to the games glory. OFR, stunned me again with the sheer epic storyline and added components (extra weapons/vehicles and the ability to keep everthing you find). thsi game by far was/is my favorite fps. Not to mention OFR introduced one of my favorite gaming characters Victor Troska who pwned russian noobs :starwars:. A shame he had to die :( (I hate Guba). Anyways, this game by far in my opnion was a fps epic which must be remembered. So any thoughts on the game  ? DecalMirror
That was(and is) that best oldie-fps ever! You don'd happen to have the third expansion, Red Hammer. If the original showed you what is hard game, the new Russian campaign showed what's REALLY hard. Well, at least some of the missions was such difficult that they almost made me to kill the entire game from my hard drive.
Deathstruck
I am still playing it :P plus some new nice mods or total conversions like FFUR etc.
cyronarxes
That was(and is) that best oldie-fps ever! You don'd happen to have the third expansion, Red Hammer. If the original showed you what is hard game, the new Russian campaign showed what's REALLY hard. Well, at least some of the missions was such difficult that they almost made me to kill the entire game from my hard drive.I have the operation Flashpoint as well as the expansion "Resistance". Both games were superbly made in my opinion and still are my favorite fps games. victor troaska was/is one my all time favorite game characters along with Xardas and and a few others I wont go into detail. Anyways, I also have red hammer and was sorely dissapointed in the lack of story and effort put forth into it. The whole first campaign where the invading army was getting their arse handed to them by shotgun wielding farmers was just really corny though it did make me laugh. I can honestly say I have never had any other fps (perhaps the old syphon filter series) which have made a huge impact on me. I am still playing it tongue.gif plus some new nice mods or total conversions like FFUR etc. I kindly ask where I can find such conversions? can you please give a link if you don't not mind, I really am interested in a modded "Operation Flashpoint"
macmert
This game was the open ended war theme FPS right... I barely remember it cause I recall that the graphics were horrible... There was no decent 3D design and the trees, bushes were 2D... And it was a bit buggy, but it was a long time ago... :D
Jtrainz
Flashpoint was a great game, Played the hell out of it and the expansions. Gotta agree on the red hammer expansion being abit iffy.. As well as buggy if I remember right but the original and resistance I still consider top notch can't wait for the new one to come out.
jaysus
yup yup... totally agree... it was lost somehow after the first battlefield release even tho OF was way superior to it... and the graphics werent bad for the time... so much content in one game i didnt see since ages to be honest... it took some time to get a feel for the controls but once you got it it was amazing... after i died in a car crash cause my trabant was made of cotton and not steel i fell in love... oh and remember that you could shoot anything to pieces... from trees over houses to cars and you had a mission generator! Rohok
Operation Flashpoint is the greatest First Person Shooter ever created. Ever. I mean really, it was so solid; So deep, and so comprehensive that I can't help but cringe each time I play a modern combat video games. IE: Insurgency Mod, Battlefield 2, etc. This game, albeit old and outdated, provided (and still provides) endless hours of entertainment, and numerous playing possibilities unseen by any game to this date. Any non-FPS game, that is (We all know about Morrowind's infinite possibilities). In fact, the only game that rivals this game in mod ability has to be TES3: Morrowind. You know, I can't even begin to describe this game. It's like... Well, obviously, it's not for everybody. It's not a fast-paced shooter like Counter Strike or Halo, it's not a graphical eye candy beast like Crysis or Far Cry 2, and it certainly does not have as deep a storyline as TES3: Morrowind, or Fallout 2. What does it have, though? Open battlefield. Fighting a sniper in a town? Screw that, I'm walking a hundred kilometers north to chill in a beach house, seeya sucka. This ain't your average FPS. Anyway, for any of you oldies out here, I'm sure you can remember this website: http://ofp.gamepark.cz/ Best OFP modding site to date. Warhammer 40k Mods, Halo mods, Star Ship Troopers mods, Medieval mods, WW2 mods... Or you can just combine them all into one and fight barbarians as a Warhammer 40k Space Marine in Omaha beach. Either way is fun. Well, with time, comes new games, and OFP was soon replaced by Armed Assault. But still, I will never forget OFP, and all the memories I have of it. Fun times, fun times. Perhaps we can all sit around in the bar and discuss our ol' war stories.
Halororor
Got ArmA recently, because some people told me it's a lot like OF, but I didn't enjoy it at all. Can somebody tell me what the differences between the two are?
