LE Guilds Mechanics Restyling

Hi everyone.

 

I'm new to this forum and to the website aswell.

I know my following request may be hard to script, anyway here it is.

 

I've got a "vision" of how the guilds' mechanics should be changed in Skyrim.

I'm referring mostly to the Thieves Guild, the Companions and the College of Winterhold. The Dark Brotherhood stands apart due to the kind of quests it has. Gonna explain better in the next lines.

What I'd like to have are guilds that require a certain reputation AND a certain skill level in order to advance their quests.

 

Let's take the Thieves guild as an example:

- You join it with no requirements aside the canon joining quest.

- You get to the point where radiant quests are avaiable (the ones given by Vex and Delvin)

- From there, in order to advance to the next questline quest, you have to accomplish a certain number of radiant quests, each of wich will give you a fixed amount of reputation towards the Thieves Guild. In addition to getting enough reputation, you also need to increase skills related to the Thief 'till a fixed level. When both of the reputation and the skills match the requirements, the dialogue to start the next quest will be avaiable. Once the next quest is finished, you have again the same restrictions as before: you need to raise the rep 'till a certain point and the skills aswell. Of course you can raise the rep and the skills whenever you want.

 

Same for the College of Winterhold and the Companions. The Dark Brotherhood is a problem since it hasn't got radiant quests AND there's no governing skill.

 

Got what i mean? I hope so :)

Of course this is just a draft, and it needs a lot more tuning.

I think such mod would bring a lot more longevity to the guilds questlines AND make them more credible. Being Archmage without ever using a spell is just too weird imo.

I also understand this may require a lot of work. I'm not a modder so I can't be of much help aside for the design of the mod.

 

Oh and I know we will have to wait for the CK to be released. ;)
