I've been feeling frustrated with the lack of bows with unique effects, so I'm going to try to put at least one or two in the game. They will be the reward for difficult, appropriately themed quests, and I'm going to try to balance them so as not to be 'cheat items.' Each bow will have a unique model, and unique effects (not just a variant on the effects you can enchant any weapon with, I find this boring). So, which ideas do you think are best- or do you have another idea?

  1. Eldingar- When an arrow from Eldingar strikes the enemy, the enemy will be hit by a bolt of lightning from the sky (using the Storm Call effect). Potentially may use player.autoaim to home in on enemies to a limited degree.
  2. Utskrift- Utskrift magically generates its own arrows upon drawing/firing (I'll probably use a Bound Arrow with an edited animation which only shows the last part of the draw).
  3. Abberant- Abberant makes everything within a set radius attack the NPC hit by an arrow
  4. Rota- Disarms the enemy upon hit
  5. Heartseeker- Upon being drawn, uses detect life effect to show all enemies through walls; arrows noclip through walls (need to use some special effects for this).
  6. Margir Nalar- Allows you to fire two arrows at different targets, simultaneously (as described below)

Margin Nalar (Icelandic- Many Needles) works like this:

  1. You press the 'draw bow' button
  2. Time freezes
  3. Movement speed is 0, you can't do anything except aim and fire the bow
  4. Upon releasing the first arrow, it just hangs in the air in front of your bow, frozen
  5. Upon the release of the second arrow, time starts normally again, and both arrows hit their target

So... you want to implement Red Dead Redemption's Dead Eye? Or V.A.T.S?

I'm cool with that I guess.
