LGH
I've been having problems with Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 and Bethsoft's support is basically a broken record at this point and just keeps telling me to reinstall the game. I don't want to lose my saves or mess up my load orders and mod priorities, and if I just uninstall and reinstall everything, it's almost certain to break things everywhere.I noticed that NMM has a function to backup and restore mod installation, but I have some questions about it:1) I have some mods that patch/overwrite other mods. Will it keep track of what is installed over what?2) I have some mods with no actual associated .esp files that just installed directly into the folder structure through NMM. Will those be preserved?3) I notice that I can opt to NOT backup the core game files. Does NMM know which files are core files that were overwritten by mod files? Are those saved?4) Is it as simple as it looks? Make some big backup file, move it aside, reinstall the game, and then load that backup back into the fresh game, and everything should be in the right place, in the right load order, etc?5) Any extra steps I should take to make sure it goes smoothly? Aside from the above, I have another problem. NMM is installed to my C partition, which is rather small. My actual mod storage is on my a different drive, but it's also pretty low in space. When I went to actually make a back-up, it told me that there wasn't enough space on C (which is neither where I'm saving it to, nor where the mods are located). I assume that everything has to bottleneck through NMM, which means I have to move NMM to one of my larger drives. How problematic will this be? Are all the settings/configurations external like the mods? If I uninstall and reinstall NMM elsewhere, will it load everything up and be right where it was before? In addition, as mentioned, the drive my mods ARE on is getting a bit packed and I want to shuffle them to a new drive. How would I do that with as little damage as possible? Thank you for your time and assistance.
