damanding
I'm working on a cluttered desk with a terminal on it to be built in workshop mode. I first tried copying the workshop terminal and switched out the mesh to mine. I also tried copying one of Ethreon's terminals from his Wasteland Computers mod. So as far as I can tell, I have all the correct keywords, actor values, and the script needed. I've got the furniture marker adjusted to what appears to be the correct place. The object receives passive power in game. However when I try using it I can't see any of the text on the terminal screen. Not the initial message that loads (vanilla is "Initializing") or text on a holotape. I don't even get the blinking cursor. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? kitcat81
I have not tried to create terminals though I have helped somebody to fix their terminal nif. I don`t know if the nif file can be a reason...but as I remember it had some built-in animation ( float interpolator blocks etc). Maybe missing something in the nif file ? To add a lamp light to my object I pasted my mesh+texture brach into some nif that had a lamp and had to change loads of links in all these interpolator block. But I`m not sure..so it`s just a guess. greekrage
is it possible to remove your nif or switch it with one from a working terminal and try it out to at least make sure your nif isnt the problem?? I had a similar issue with a terminal i used in one of my mods but in my case it was missing a script hence a blank screen without even a cursor ... btw are there any fragments attached to that terminal that arent loading due to an obvious different form id that you may have to duplicate/rename etc. ?? damanding
For those with a similar problem in the future, Kinggath kindly helped me figure out the issue. Turns out that when I copied the clutter/desk into the terminal nif a bunch of nodes got renamed and some of the controller nodes took on the same name as the screen controller nodes which confused the game. So renaming the controller nodes associated with the desk (for opening/closing drawers) fixed the problem. :D
