charwo
I have tried modding before, and I can't mod to save my life. But since no one is making the mods I would like to play, is it a legitmate thing to write a mod? Peddle it around and see if anyone wants to to do the actual modding based on your script? Or is that a waste of everyone's time? If it isn't, any advice on learning how to write a quest?
JoKelly
how to write a quest... youre already on the right track. write it like a movie script ( more or less) you know.. Setting -noon on a nameless street, kids playing, dogs barking, serial killer killing someone on a corner. NPC Bob- (horrified) OMG a serial killer is killing some one on a corner, quick hide the dog. PC- (dramatic music) Never fear I am here to save the day.... BOB- wait all I wanted was some one to hide the dog so it quits barking. etc... once you have the location the dialogue and the action outlined, your halfway there. the easy half but still halfway. then its just a matter of setting up Refs, plugging your dialogue into the right spots, linking choices and setting conditions Edited January 21, 2017 by JoKelly
Volbrand
Check out seddon4494's channel on YouTube, he's got a bunch of videos talking about making NPCs, basic dialogue scenes and quest making. I'm really new to this all too, but those videos were definitely a helpful place to start.
