Download dependency walker (http://www.dependencywalker.com/) Please use the32bit version for this game, once installed, run it on the games engine.

I am not sure if I did this correctly or not...this list is quite large if you look at the scroll bar to the far right of the image you will get an idea.

ok, you do indeed have an issue. way too many items listed. do once more this procedure while steam is online and the game launched from there.

what your showing here is a lot of missing assets the game needs to run. But, those particular assets are meant for windows.

"retail" or steam, this does not matter, New Vegas is an online game that requires steam to load that engine, those assets are deemed "temporary" while in game, steam / Valve downloads them on launch.

If you can load the game just to the menu? alt tab out and run this procedure again while engine is hot loaded, you will find all or most of that red is now black.

All you need running is the main master file. The software may even be corrupted as well but those assets are for windows compatibility from steam.

<snip>

Word of warning, all home editions shall be rendered null and void soon, Microsoft is now Eliminating Original released windows 10 content "on purpose".

be ready.

Where can I find more detail about this, please?

P.S: THIS is why we need community participation. I had downloaded Dependency Walker years ago and completely forgotten about it. Nice call. Added to the "Troubleshooting" guide.

Okay so I launched the launcher (and yes, this was all through steam). Clicked Play Game. Main Menu came up, I used Alt-Tab to return to desktop and run the tool. I don't think it changed much if at all from the previous run.....

So it is a serous matter when I post things, the purpose is a heads up, you know it's coming, may already know about the edition issues they are going to force upon the gaming community.

Know that the current issues seen to date are considered minor compared to that which is about to unfold on every one.

Thank you for that. I had no idea.

As disheartening as that may seem to be, a lot of things here will and must change.

Windows IS an office program.

Our interest don't lie in that arena. There is in fact things happening right now, in the background to enable us to use the new systems for games.

But, those things rely on Deals made between companies involved. This leads to subjects not interesting to gamer ethics.

Of us, that are on the in inside ,are complain about this as much and clearly as we can. But that bottom line is Monetary.

Hand held devices are the new world orders targets, not PC's.

Things that interest me may not interest you. That 's what makes us different. But I am there and I am here to try and solve things any way I can.

I just won't be so open about it.
