Retail New Vegas Loads with No Sound and Severe Lag

It isn't so much an issue of affording better internet as it is the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere, and this is the best speed I can get. My ISP has no competition out here so they have no incentive to do the groundwork to get faster connections out here.

The closest thing I have to an internet cafe is the college I attend, and I have done just as you have stated to download games in the past; however, they just closed the university due to weather tonight, and it would be a 30 minute drive in this terrible weather anyways, so I'll just try it with the internet that I have.

If this doesn't work, then I'll try it with the campus connection.

So on a side note, what would be your recommendation for an OS that I can use for gaming other than Windows?

EDIT: I don't see "SecuRom" anywhere on the case. It just says Games for Windows PC DVD and enhanced for multi-core.

Games for Windows PC DVD

xlive..wait..Look in my signature first..if the game from the retailer has Games from windows live ? then you are missing all the updates for windows 10 to allow that software to run.

I have direct links available in there for your consumption.

Install the 72mb file from their site and retry the game.

See that thought crossed my mind to, because I had a similar problem with FO3 months ago on another machine, but it doesn't actually say Games for Windows "Live" so I didn't think it was the same. It just says Games for Windows. I will try again, and see what happens. Thanks for the download!

It's like this: I purchased My NV on steam while it was on sale for $5.00

The stores here every where want $20.00 + tax and NO DLC's

So, I don't have that retail disc.

I do own all the others.

My skyrim box was kinda of a book which came with all the other Beth-soft games too. It came with things, items, a statue and some neat things, a real Map I put on a wall.

I Own both retail fo3 and steam versions of Fo3. Nv..just somehow broke away from reality of that games Lore. I can't stand desert themes.

Now, you give a girl Thick forests, flowers, plants and things we do like? then you have a sold item.

What I can tell you about Fo3, where it's ideas Originated from? would really blow your mind.

It's not what you are led to believe. But it's ok to believe in what's been published.

Over @ a book store "Barns and Noble" lies the source for Fallout 3's origins.

No spoilers but the true source is from Germany. Or rather it's history..as in people in.

you would need to read the books to associate the themes, once read, I could not convince you otherwise.

NV is a US Themed Idea. Fo4 " is a joke.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them to be honest. They are not without there faults, but I have spent 100s of hours on all three of them. I have always really liked NV. I am not a huge fan of the desert setting either, but the whole "Vegas back in its hay day" aesthetic I have really liked. I think it's the "how would you survive after a nuclear apocolyspe" premise behind the series that I like the most though.

For reference, I like getting hard copies of games just due to my internet speed, and I got this one from Bethesda store for $20 with all DLC.

What series of books would I find those themes that you speak of, I'll have to look into them?

What i will do is Pm the search criteria that google will lead you too the source.

This type of subject matter is not allowed here on this site, and it's is frowned upon. I understand why too.

But, once you land on that result, look to the right and see the authors statements and there is also a preview read, I don't remember how many pages are available online, but it's more than enough to make things clear.

If I do this? please do not post about what it is you read. Let history die where it is.

Do I have your assurance?

EDIT: reasons...the 3rd line down shows the why of it.

All of these 32bit games run pretty much without flaws on windows XP if they are retails versions.

Current updates to some of these are no longer valid on XP or vista from steams point of view.

After march we will need to re-Evaluate consistence of all the games.

There is a lot of work for those wishing to continue use of these products...time seems not to wait for any one any more.

The only thing that will remain valid for a bit longer are those machines specifically designed to run them.

And that is also not far off to become invalid platforms.

we will end up using VM's to run the games with.
