Sarya
Never saw a forum war doing anything good for anyone. Though convincing screen authors will hardly give any results as well. There are always those who simply don't care what others think or feel.
LoginToDownload
Seems to me that people uploading to Image Share in the first place are more likely to care what others think or feel about their pictures, but it also seems to me a lot of the people "massing" images are uploading pictures for the first time. And aside from those, I would imagine most of the "undesirable" pictures could be avoided with category-filters.
Sarya
LoginToDownload, don't be so sure. I mostly see those people feeling offended, not feeling that they do something unpleasant to others. "Don't look at it if you don't like it" - what they think. While all pictures are clearly seen in the Gallery as you browse it. Hard to miss. And what of filters... for example some people uploading explicit pornography care little about adult content filter if care at all. Not a pleasant sight when you're not a porn loving male, believe me. I finally turned on an adult filter for last two days, as browsing the gallery became impossible to bear - and some a still seen. LoginToDownload
I meant new filters, for the categories like aesthetics/landscapes. That has the added bonus of getting a sizable chunk of the semi-porn ones out of the way as well. You're probably right about people's opinions on low ratings, though, but there has to be a legitimate usage for low ratings on Image Share... Sarya
Well, if they pay little to no attention on one filter we can use, will anything change with several?
LoginToDownload
I wasn't really considering the outright nudity-ones that get past the adult filter, so much as the monotonous scantily-clad female poses and (to a lesser extent) landscapes. The categories are actually already in place for images, (and as a bonus, it seems to me mods that should have the adult filter turned on and don't are much more common than mods that are labelled under the wrong, usually default, category) so I wouldn't imagine a filter for them would be very hard to code. If people don't look at the adult filter, (or, if a filter for it/some way of seeing it ever comes into place, file their images under the wrong category) all you can do is report and move on, I suppose. Sarya
That was just an example, as adult-content filter already exists. And well, I reported. Five times today. Don't feel myself proud about it, but after all I'm among those whom those people had shown disrespect by forgetting.
LoginToDownload
When I said nothing you can do except report and move on, I more meant that I didn't see a terribly broad way of dealing with such screenshots than suggesting a course of action. And I still believe using established categories would work better and allow for more customization to personal tastes.
stephanie
There are places to have nudity, and places to not have nudity in screenies. This site is a place where a lot of young people visit, post, and download mods for a lot of different games. My opinions is that pics of Nude females or females in skimpy outfits should be kept away from these forums. There are too many children here ... :)
Sarya
LoginToDownload, true, of course, there's nothing we can do about adult-content but reporting a missing tag. But the topic is not about adult content, it is about lack of originality - and there is nothing we can do by means provided. Lack of originality and lack of good taste are completely legal, unfortunately, and there's nothing to report.
