WoogieMonster
One thing that will prevent a mod from appearing in the data files menu is if you forget to put the .esp in right place.
thekid345
Download obmm and it should make sure all of the meshes, textures, etc get put in the right place. At times just the CS part gets extracted and the other goodies get left out.
evilkoal
i am guessing you are putting the .7z files in the data folder since you didnt explain your problem very well... so, from what i am guessing you are doing, i'd say to download 7zip. use that to unzip your files. extract everything to the folders that it goes to :)
schmoopy123354
where is the right place to put the esp files?
bben46
The actual .esp files go in the \Oblivion\Data folder. However, many mods include much more then a simple.esp file. they may include texture, mesh and sound files or may have .bsa files. If you use 7-zip to unzip your mods it will almost always place each of these into the proper folders and subfolders. 7zip can work with almost all zipped type files used by mod makers to compress their files. Several other unzip programs, such as winzip, winrar and tugzip have problems putting things in the proper place. &zip works almost all of the time. 7zip is a free program (winrar, the second best is a for pay program with a free trial). Download 7zip here http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579 READ the documentation or you will have problems After it is installed, you MUST assign all zip type programs to open with 7zip or they will continue to try to open with winzip (or whatever program AUTOMATICALLY assigned all of your .zip, .rar and other compressed files to Their proprietary program.
