ENB lag spikes when looking around.

Hello, I am using the enb Tamriel Reloaded and I get some wierd lag issues. Whenever I try to look around in either 3rd 1st person I get a lag spike and I also get wierd occasional lag spikes while jumping and doing other things. I normally never get any lag I get 28 frames except when I get the lag spikes. They happen about every 30 seconds when I am not looking around and they always happen when I do look around. Can I get some help? I will provide any additional information if needed.

Skyrim with ENB and graphics enhancement mods installed is always heavy and need more memory to run. It's natural.

Unless you have some background programs running during Skyrim gameplay. This may cause some lag spikes.

See if you can remove some of those graphics enhancement mods that causes you lag

Apologies for digging up an old post.

Perhaps OP solved their issue, but I will post what worked for me as perhaps someone will find it useful too.

My game is heavily modded (225 active mods) and runs on a very solid PC (OC'd Haswell i5, OC'd gtx 1080, 32gb RAM).

I had a similar issue with sizable and frequent dips in fps while turning and running forwards both inside houses and in the open world, and looking in the direction of water.

After going through my ini files, clearing saves, load orders, mod clashes etc. I narrowed this down to hitting the vRAM wall, which I thought was unusual because I have a gtx 1080 with 8gb vRAM.

It turns out that Skyrim runs on dx9, which at the time windows 10 limited vRAM allocation to 4gb. This issue has been resolved with the new windows update (version 1709, released northern hemisphere fall 2017).

After following the steps to changing VideoMemorySizeMb in the enblocal.ini outlined in the STEP ENB guide, and changing to ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024, I no longer get fps dips, and skyrim once again run's like velvet.

I hope someone finds this useful.

Good luck, have fun.

Decided to boot up Skyrim with an updated ENB after some PC upgrades, was baffled to find my fps tanking from 80 to 12 in Riften. The game would lag regardless of whether or not ENB was activated or deactivated, I noticed that removing d3d9.dll did the trick so I knew it had something to do with the ENB.

Don't know what the issue was but stumbling on your post lead me to the solution. So thanks, this post was helpful to somebody 3 years later. If anybody else has a similar issue with ENB try this out.

omg i did the same thing and now my game runs pretty smooth in whiterun and even the open world. i was doubting my laptop at first, as if my 16gb ram with nvidia 3060 rtx laptop can't run skyrim with less than 100 mods but turned out it was the enb this whole time. it's been 4 years but this is very helpful, thanks man.
