markaval
I don't know if this is classed as a legitimate topic or not but I wanted to say a huge thankyou to all those people who spend so much of their own time creating some really fantastic mods for general enjoyment by people like me. I finished Dragon Age 2 and was feeling nostalgic after enjoying it so much that i thought I'd dig out DAO. I'd got a bit into the game and was getting hacked off at some of the more annoying features of the game and I decided to delve into the mods for this game and I've now downloaded a lot of mods for Dragon Age Origins. I was simply amazed at how they transformed the way the game played and I just wanted to give positive feedback and even more positive kudos to those that put the effort in. I was even more surprised at how the feel of the game changed once it was modded. My character felt more like the 'hero' that he was supposed to be and that he actually knew which end of a dagger he was holding, rather than grinding away for hours to get half decent skills! One of the best mods for me was the tactics mod - I was really frustrated that I could only get 4 slots in the vanilla game and that I was wasting upgrades on what should have been a standard feature for all characters - I personally think Bioware got that one really wrong and that it stunted the enjoyability of the game (if that's even a word!). It was actually looking for this mod that made me aware of all the other fantastic mods out there including hd texture mods, improved game play mods, damage balancing mods and even great additional adventures. It took me a bit of time to get my head around installing and understanding the override folders etc, but it was worth the effort. A game that would have gathered dust on the shelf is going to get a few more play-throughs! Thankyou to all mod developers out there and for the amazing skills that you demonstrate in producing these mods - long may you continue producing such high quality work. If anyone else wants to show their appreciation then feel free to add your posts alongside mine.
