Gannet
The original game allowed this but it was removed in a patch so should be east to turn back on right? might not even have to make it. probably exists already and i just don't know where to look, figure dsomeone here might _____If not then can somebody help me revert to an older patch? I would just reinstall and patch to a lower version to join but downloaded free from bethesda's site which came prepatched to final version(2.13) I need either the file names included in this patch, the unpatched versions and the files in the 1.79 or earlier patches to manually do this since the patch installer doesnt run in my computer(and dosbox isn't able to let it write to anywhere?) so if you have a mod to allow this it'd be awesome, if not if anybdoy has the files to allow me to revert to the old version that would let me that'd also be cool. Septfox
The original game allowed this but it was removed in a patch so should be east to turn back on right? In a modern TES game, maybe :\ Found two things for you. First, the more difficult and technically cheaty version but lets you use the less-buggy newer version of the game:Joining more than one Knight/Temple Guild28 April 1997 In patch versions 1.91 and later you can no longer join multiple Knightly orders or temples. For those with current patch version who wish to join more than one here's how. Install another Daggerfall game into another drive/directory. Use the minimum install unless you've got plenty of hard drive space. Upgrade this new installation to patch version 1.79 (version 1.77 may work but I'm not sure). Load up your game in your usual Daggerfall game with the later patch. Find a guild which you wish to join and enter the building. Save the game and exit. Copy the save game into the Daggerfall v1.79 directory which you've recently made. Example: cd \dagger\save4 copy *.* d:\dag01\save4 You _may_ need to run an old version of FIXSAVE to get the game running now. I transfer games from v2.13 to v1.79 running v1.1 of FIXSAVE and it works fine. Start up the v1.79 of DF and load this game. Join the guild and save the game and exit. Again, transfer this newly saved game into your usual DF directory. Start up your usual DF, load the new game and presto, you're joined to several temple/knightly guilds. Second, installation and subsequent patching up to 1.79 to use with the above or as a standalone (I'll go into detail on commands since I don't know your DOS proficiency level):Dowload the original game here. From that zip, copy the dfcd folder somewhere that you're going to leave it (c:\ works fine)Boot up DosBox. Execute the following commands: "mount d: c:\dfcd" and "mount c: c:\ -freesize 1024"Type "d:" and hit EnterType "install" and hit EnterGo through the install process. Make sure you pick Large or Huge for the installation size, I picked Minimum the first time and the patch failed because it couldn't find one of the files. I'm assuming Large will work. Make absolutely sure you change the install path to something other than \dagger\ if your current install is there and you plan on using it laterSet up sound. Auto-detect should work for everything since DosBox supports the awsm SB16Alt-tab out of DosBox, and go download the 1.79 patch from here. Put it in the folder that the installer createdFocus DosBox again, and type "c:\dagger" (or whatever you changed the install folder to if you did), hit EnterType "dag179.exe", hit EnterPress Y to let it patch, then Enter when it prompts you. At this point, you might want to press Ctrl-f12 a few times to increase DosBox's cycles. Patching will take forever at 3000 (and still takes several minutes at 12k)That's it. While still in the Dagger folder, type "fall.exe z.cfg" to start the game up. Movies will work and everything as long as the CD is still mounted, if not then it'll skip them.To run the game in the future, you'll have to repeat the two mount commands that we started out with (or just the second one if you don't care about movies). You can also edit DosBox's configuration file to do this automatically whenever it's started, go look in the readme~ Edited January 16, 2012 by Septfox

Septfox
Ah right, I forgot that DosBox panicked about mounting the system drive. It shouldn't hurt anything, especially when running Vista/7 as you appear to be, but if you're really worried about it, create a subfolder to put the game stuff in and mount that instead. Er, like you were trying to do. I'm not sure why the way you set it up didn't work. As far as I can tell, you mounted everything properly, it...uh, really should have worked :\Maybe in my current state of sleepyness, I'm missing something. Will look it over again when I awaken. As for your save not showing up, the cheat thingy says you need to run a older version of Fixsave on it to make it conform to the older save format, which I'd thought 1.79 came with...apparently not. Finding an old version might be troublesome, seeing as most people don't have any use for it. I imagine it IS included in one of the patches, so I'll patch my game up until it appears when I wake back up (or you can if you see this before then if you like). Edit: Yo.Patch 1.95 had Fixsave with it. It may or may not work to make your savegame compatible. One way to find out I suppose.http://www.mediafire.com/?3vh00z15arfp912Put it in your daggerfall folder, run it in DosBox.
