That is the current software on my gaming computer. I purchased it roughly 2 weeks ago. Now for my dilemma. Nexus Mod Manager is the heart of modding utilities if it is not working right none of the others will work right. I have spent a week trying to find the answer to this on the web. Nexus Mod Manager has a temporary save file directory path setting. The 1st file setting to Skyrim is there but the second to temp directory is grayed out. I started it with run as administrator and I can click into that input box. However the box does not display the tree file structure it just stops blank when I try to navigate to where the default path for this program's needs is supposed to be.This prevents it from recognizing functions such as downloading to where the SKSE is and also will not let you use TES5Edit as it relies on Nexus Mod Manager for the path.I appreciate your response as I am both getting up to speed with modern computers again and carefully hope to learn how to mod a little. (Which is why I made the decision to buy this computer basically) omg .... edit  I just realized this the wrong forum. i will look for the delete thingy as I have not posted for years on a forum either. Edit again.: Lol just my luck I cannot find a user delete your last post button on here. If the staff is feeling gracious you may delete this or move it to the correct forum. Sorry again for the trouble.
KunoMochi
What version of NMM do you have installed? 0.63.13? Also, when you go into settings to change the "Temporary Path Directory", you need to click on the ellipsis, then find a new "Temp" folder (or find a suitable place to create one) and have it selected then click on "OK" to set the new "Temporary Path Directory" to that new "Temp" folder. Note that NMM needs to be restarted for the change to take effect.
stephenbrooks
Yes 0.63.13 is the latest version of NMM and I am using that version. I tried as you suggested but it still brings up Skyrim is not setup to work with NMM. My internet will be down soon for the night as my Internet provider is doing maintenance. I shall try as you suggested again. I looked at how to fix NMM on you tube already and the fix for firefox and associating the correct file URL types to NMM. So I am pretty sure this is the correct area to work on to get the bug fixed. If necessary I am willing to uninstall and reinstall NMM and the associated tools and programs. (Loot, Nif Scope,Creation Kit,skse etc. etc. ) I certainly don't have a great amount of mods and what not as of yet. If you think a clean reinstall of all the programs (Except steam) in an exact an exact order will best bring stability for long term modding on a new system. To be clearer I have looked at many a help site and nexus, but the information as to where each of these programs and components are, and how they are supposed to be setup is actually not quite up date in all things. So a Round robin of of installation and setup with the supposed correct order of programs and procedures turns out to be rather piecemeal in what new person can actually accomplish. Therefore probably not in a correct order. The same has applied for patches. I appreciate the outstanding amount of effort that has continuously been put forth by these communities and staff and mod makers in general. I digress I will be back tomorrow lol. KunoMochi
Did you have NMM scan your system for Skyrim? If so, did you click on the green checkmark to confirm its location before continuing? You can re-scan it by click on the blue circle arrow on the upper right corner of NMM. If that still doesn't work and you want to uninstall NMM, be sure to have it uninstall all NMM files when uninstalling.
