GammaLead
Hi all, Backstory (feel free to skip to request, it's long): I (along with many others most likely) enjoy one version of realistic detection or another (make it harder to sneak around unlike broken vanilla skyrim sneaking). The issue: I also use SkyTest, Animal tweaks and a host of other mods like that. On top of that, I play on legendary with even more difficulty mods. So my travels go something like this: I ride on horseback once. I get detected by a wolf, but due to the animal configurations (which, don't get me wrong, are fantastically realistic) they don't attack. Due to the combat AI, however, I am spotted and it takes forever to lose detection (sometimes, it never happens). This means I have to kill the wolf. So I hit it with a weapon (lingering damage, so even if I miss, it dies a bit faster, otherwise, I just get slightly more damage per hit, but it runs away anyway). This is where SkyTest kicks in again: OMG! lingering damage/fire/stronger/more numerous opponents! RUN!!!! I'm left with three options. Wait 5-10 minutes for the lingering damage to kill it (if I used lingering/eternal fire). Wait <???> for it to lose detection when I leave the area (dmg stops then). Chase it and kill it, which inevitably leads to me getting frustrated when I run into 2-3 other animals which all have the same issue. NPC's are not much better if I plough thru a fort or by a group of bandits. Even better, if I go into an interior cell after choosing the run away option (they'll stop following me once I'm off the map and inside, right?) all of the inn patrons start panicing because I am flagged as in combat, and some even run outside and run half-way across the map (I saw Erandur run from Windpeak inn (skipping his nightmare dialogue) down to Fort Dunstand, which is almost on the other side of the hold! Since I used OBIS, he was easily downed and I had to clean up the bandits anyway to get on with the nightcaller quest. Request: A mod that, after being x distance away (how about the vanilla crime report distance, as that was outrageously long... on second though maybe shorter... Skyrim: Land of the Steel-Lunged), COMBAT STOPS. Detection ends immediately. Bandit 1: "They booked it through here, they are long gone by now. Could be anywhere." If you enter a friendly interior (inn inside a city, your player-built manor) COMBAT STOPS. Detection ends immediately. Bandit A: "They just ran into a city, I want his stuff, but it's not worth fighting the town guards and everyone else. If I just Paul Revere'd past the bandits between my homestead and Falkreath, in the dead of night (complete with my travel lantern for full effect), the bandit's wont be able to detect me in the basement of my homestead with the doors locked and lights out. They shouldn't even detect me anymore in my foyer, unless they had LOS when I made the cell change. But that I'd be fine with. Realistic AI detection when in combat we have (and makes sneaking awesome). Is there anyone interested in making Realistic Disengagement and Loss of Interest? Thank you to any and all who took the time to read this!
