"You'll need a new app to open this nxm" when downloading using the manager

Hey guys.

 

I've been out of the modding game for a while but have just come back becuase I got a way better computer. I remember in previous versions to download using the manager all you had to do was click the button, but now I'm being prompted with the window "You'll need a new app to open this nxm". And the only options are to look for an app in the windows app store which their isnt one.

 

Sorry if this is a noob question, but what is the problem?

I am also having this issue, cant add new mods via Vortex, just tha "You need a new app to run this program" NXM, which is silly as... c'mon, APP? Really, I'm on a PC.. not a phone... not a tablet... a PC.. Someone F'd up!
