Cryotic
Hello fellow Oblivion players, After little over a year I have decided to play some Oblivion again. I've seen the mod community has grown alot. I desided to install a few mods and so I started browsing the web. To be very honest im getting really annoyed at the moment at the chaos and unorderly buckloads of mods out there. As a newb there is no way for me to get a clear sense of which mods work best and have not compatibility issue's with each other. For example: I would like some mods to upgrade the looks of my chars and have seen over a dozen mods so far that claim to do the same. WHICH to take? Beautifull people and Ren's something something for instance - which is best, which should I take? Also how do you keep mods apart when all the mods get mixed up together. Everything is just dumped into the Data / Textures / Meshes directory. What is I want to uninstall one, good luck finding all the bits and pieces... any advice? Are there guides to start off with a few mods and work your way up? Is there some MEGA pack so you have all that you need from only the best? /sigh feel like uninstalling Oblivion all together after searching and researching for hours and hours. Have not installed 1 mod yet. PLEASE help me sort this ou

bben46
First, start by getting Timeslips Oblivion Mod manager (OBMM) from here http://timeslip.chorrol.com/Then Oblivion Script Extender Here http://obse.silverlock.org/ OBMM helps to organize and manage your mods. It also allows mods to be installed in what is called Omod format which separates each mod and puts them in a special folder. OBSE is needed for many new mods to work properly. Neither one of these is a mod. they are what I call helper programs that make working with mods easier. Be sure to read the readme that comes with each one and follow the instructions for installing or they won't work properly. Then, check out the top 100 mods on Tesnexus http://tesnexus.com/downloads/top.phpThese are the most popular mods and usually the best of the best. they will not have many compatibility issues or they would not be here. As to which is the best beauty mod, well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What looks good to me may not look as good to you. Look at the screen shots and decide for yourself. OBMM makes it easy to change which mod you use. We were all newbs once.
