ThomasBlaine
In Oblivion, I once tried to play my character sorta like a "Witcher", from the titular series, I.E: freelance monster-slayer for hire, focusing on swordplay, Light Armor and Alchemy, while dabbling in Destruction, Armorer and a tiny bit of Illusion. It didn't work like a charm, but it was quite fun, and finally gave me an excuse to delve into the Alchemy skill. My main grievance was that while the world itself was perfect for it, strangely few quests actually dealt directly with monsters, especially considering all the ridiculously hostile wolves and obscure supernatural freaks that kept getting in your face the moment you stepped out of a city, not to mention the skeletons that roamed every single uninhabited settlement in the country. It was as if people didn't care that everyone was under attack from perfectly killable monsters as long as they could get at that family ring in the cellars of some haunted keep. Anyway I'd like to try the same thing in Skyrim, and am wondering if you guys have any ideas of how to go about it. You know, which skills and quest-lines to pursue, which items to look for, specific potion recipes, race, standing stones ect... ModelV
It would really help me help you if I had ever actually played that game... However Id say that the monster slaying quests are more prevalent in Skyrim especially with the Companions(faction) questline and the mainquest itself. Since, you know...Dragons and what not. Id definitely go for the Companions questline especially with Aela's Radiant quests.
spets21
Witcher in Skyrim Witcher-ish playstyle discussion I thought from your title description you want to talk about creating a mod complete overhaul of the Skyrim World that would change your character into Geralt of Rivia like (Face and body mesh, Hair,Tattoos,Witcher Eyes), Re-modelling Armors like the Keyran or Selt Kirk's, remodel Silver/Steel sword to become Witcher's Blade , or even add new skills to the perk tree like Quen,Igni Abilities add adult content as well and more from the witcher game. now that would be a great idea for a MOD,this will be time consuming in creating if the CK ever comes out.or if someone is willing to give it a go. anyway to answer thisYou know, which skills and quest-lines to pursue, which items to look for, specific potion recipes, race, standing stones ect... There is a silver sword available in one of the camps controlled by the silver hand group sad to say forgot exactly which camp it was as for potion RP, Gadwall/Swallow = Regenerate Health(Garlic, Juniper Berries, Luna Moth Wing, Namira's Rot, Nordic Barnacle, Vampire Dust), Rook can either be Fortify One or Two-Hand which increases weapon damage(Dragon's Tongue, Fly Amanita, Troll Fat),Gold Oriole = resist to magicka/fire/Ice/Shock/Poison. List of Potions in Skyrim there are not a lot of quest in skyrim that requires you to kill XX amount of certain mob a good example wood be the bear quest in Ivarstead so you can RP that one as a Witcher :D hmm can't think of any at a moment so far. ThomasBlaine
There is a silver sword available in one of the camps controlled by the silver hand group sad to say forgot exactly which camp it was. I'm pretty sure all Silver Hand members exclusively wield silver weapons, so that's not a problem. I'll keep the potion recipes in mind, thanks. I'm thinking the Companions too, though the faction quests bother me a little. There's always some hurried, urgent mission that transcends what you actually joined to do (filch money, help people, study magic ect...) and invariably ends with you as the supreme master of the faction, which just doesn't always fly roleplaying-wise. And no, I'm playing on the Xbox 360, so mods are a no-go as far as I'm concerned. Knock yourselves out, though I wouldn't jump at the chance to play Geralt specifically anyway. His model always struck me as both weird and boring when a more mundane and realistic (customizable?) look would make him easier to relate to. It's the "Witcher" concept I like to explore. ...I really need to stop complaining. The Thieve´s Guild-armor minus hood somewhat resembles a Witcher uniform, and seems more practical casual-wear than any other considering the climate, so I think that'll be my primary outfit, with either the sleeved Fur Armor or Robes for prolonged travel. I think it was a very, very bad design desition to make the Circle stop giving you jobs until you progressed with the main Companions quest. Anyway, one advice. Dont go crazy on magic, Geralt was a very skilled sword fighter but no master at magic. Now, the thing i see is that in The Witcher games, Geralt uses his swords with both hands (actually, in the witcher 1, two handed normal sword and one handed silver sword, both are two handed in Witcher 2), but two handed weapons in Skyrim are way too slow to reflect Geralt's combat style, and Bethesda didnt spent time to make the player use both hands for some attacks (like power attacks) if he/she is using a single sword with no other stuff in the off hand. So i dunno what choise would be best for that. In this case, Oblivions skills would come in handy since Swords skill was for all swords, so you could both silver one handed sword and normal two handed sword. thesapien
If there was a way to join the Vigilants of Stendarr or even the Silverhand, tho they're like evil non-monsters fighting maybe not so evil monsters. But the Vigilants would be awesome. Joining the Companions still seems oddly fitting, like others have said. One of the Companion quests is among my favorite when you reach that place where Draugr just keep popping out in waves until the room is full of dead-dead corpses. ModelV has a good point that RP'ing as the dragonborn might work if you see dragons as monsters. And no voice-over allows you to RP with Batman's voice, I mean, Gerald's voice. A nude mod helps, too. Also, maybe play as Triss, instead, using the Triss armor mod, added with the above mentioned nude mod, go magic, and you're good to go.

Now that i think of it, it would be nice to fight the Wild Hunt in Tamriel, but that would break TES lore lol (the Wild Hunt reason to be demands the existence of other worlds like nirn, but in TES lore, it seems like Nirn is a one of a kind thing). JanusForbeare
Until they discover other planets. Doesn't work that way in TES... the sky is supposed to be mortals' limited perception of the Divines, not "outer space" as we know it. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mundus 2nd paragraph.
