thesapien
Until they discover other planets. Doesn't work that way in TES... the sky is supposed to be mortals' limited perception of the Divines, not "outer space" as we know it. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mundus 2nd paragraph. Yeah, I know. But mythologies evolve, paradigms shift.
zuggzugg
There's this quest from a Daedra based out of a temple near Solitude that's on-theme for a monster hunter and will give you a nice monster hunting prize :)http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Break_of_Dawnas others have said Aela's radiant quests are on-theme, and jarls frequently ask you to take out giants and dragons, though sometimes it's just some bandit. There's a bit of supernatural hoohah going on in and around Morthal and Dawnstar that might be up your alley, and once you have helped them establish themselves the Blades are keen for a bit of dovahkin on dovah action. But as others have said... no opportunity to join the silver hand. No vampire hunting faction. No city-based industrial types keen for the eliminaton of all spriggans and their crystal clear ponds. No delving into Falmer caverns to recover crucial alchemical ingredients and artefacts.Where is that Creation Kit anyhow?
eltucu
Yeah, I know. But mythologies evolve, paradigms shift. The thing is that its not mythology in TES, much of the creation lore is fact. Aedra exist, Daedra exist, Lorkhan existed, and only cuz him Nirn was created, etc. They'd proper fcking all the lore by introducing other planets. Lachdoning, where u are when we need u!? :P Edited January 18, 2012 by eltucu

Lachdoning, where u are when we need u!? :P Much of the lore in Skyrim is conflicting. Not all texts are in agreement, nor are the races or the NPC's. There is more than one creation story in game. To help ease the pain, just try imagining that the 8 divines who followed through with Lorkhan's plan came from another "realm" and that "realm" might be associated to "planets". Or, they could be hyperdimensional beings. Maybe just a small group of them created this one planet, but others have created other planets. ThomasBlaine
The thing is, Witchers dont kill sentinent monsters (according to Geralt), thus, they dont kill Dragons since they're as sentinet in TES lore as they are in Witcher's lore. Geralt rarely hesitates to kill sentient people, so I wouldn't take that statement to the letter. It's probably more a matter of whether the entity in question is a danger to the innocent, and/or how much he's paid to kill it.And since dragons in Skyrim are very obviously hostile towards everyone, especially the player, and not-so-obviously sentient, they would likely be fair game. Any ideas on ranged combat? Geralt never even touched a bow in either game, and since you can't actually mount the dragons and whack away in Skyrim... It's like someone showing skepticism toward any and all creation stories and you respond by quoting your bible.
ThomasBlaine
Unless you're playing a very specialized scholar I don't see how your character would know either way, rendering it very close to irrelevant. If you want to discuss in-game theology then you should probably start a separate thread for it. There's likely a lot of hardcore fans who would be interested.
