Show follower location on map

I'm always losing my follower (Lydia).... especially if I take a shortcut down a mountain or something like that. Sometimes she seems to get snagged on scenery. At the moment I've no idea where she is. Maybe she's trying to find me. Maybe she's waiting at some location. Maybe she's dead. It's annoying not knowing.

It would be great to be able to find her easily on the map. Perhaps someone could make a mod for this.

Damn we love Lydia don't we ? I've actually caught myself abandoning quests just to find my um uh sweetheart ?!

Pity I can't marry her ...

I'd like to add, though some might not like the idea as it might take the fun out of the game, but I'd like to add the idea of having the "red dots" appear for any enemy that's in range.

I like this idea, but only for followers locations. Not for enemies like Nintii put since that would be kind of cheap imo.

All that is needed is a quest that has the companion marked as the quest target. People did it for Oblivion companions all the time. Shouldn't be tough to implement, but you'd probably need a different quest for each companion.

Why not just walk in a cave or through a door?.....she'll be with ya. tc.

No she's been gone for days. I think she may have gotten snagged in the Dwemer excavation site, but I've looked all over and I can't find her or her body. I've waited and waited in Dragonreach and at all my player houses. No dice.

Haveyou tried using the console for this?

a2c94.moveto player (move lydia to your character)

or

player.moveto.a2c94 (move your character to lydia

This is the right way to do it for now if you are going to be trail blazing where she can't follow. I do it frequently with Marcurio. I also use it in dungeons to move him around traps, etc. Beth did a terrible job with the traps and how followers can handle them. They should have made it impossible for followers to trigger traps OR they shouldn't have put trap triggers in locations where it was impossible for followers to avoid them. I have Marcurio wait before those types of triggers and then use the prid/moveto once I've jumped over the triggers and am far enough past them that he won't get burned, crushed, pushed off, etc.
