nireth
I remember in Morrowind where you could have self targeted spells that affected an area around you of whatever magnitude was chosen for it. Like a healing spell cast on self that would also heal nearby creatures, actors, etc. Seeing as there is already a mod which allows Healing to deal damage to Undead, wouldn't it be sweet if we could create spells in the Arcane University which allowed us to use AoE healing on ourselves while we rocked the world of some undead monstrosity? It would fit perfectly with a paladin type character I feel. Alternatively, or perhaps additionally, could we makes spells that did Damage types to us and the surrounding AoE? By lowering the cost to make/cast these spells they could become more desirable options for major firepower at the expense of your own health and they also make Resist Fire/Cold/Elec much more valuable, since these are usually ignored in favor of resist magic and spell absorption. Would it be possible to mod Oblivion to make it so you can place area effects on self target spells? If so, could they be made to bypass spell absorb and resist magic but still be affected by resist (element)? I just like the idea of casting a spell that could kill you and your enemies at the same time, plus it would be very cool if you could create Fortify **** spells which would be self cast but could also be cast on your summons or on NPC helpers at the same time. Group buff spells would be sweet. Failing all of that, is there a way to make it so that touch spells with area would trigger regardless of whether they actually struck something? This would produce the same effect, but since you don't hit yourself, you should have to pay more for the guarantee of the area effect. I know this is a solid block of text, so in summary:-Self target spells with AoE -Healing and Buffs are most important -Damage spells where you lower magicka cost for hurting yourself to essentially explode with elemental energy-Guaranteed trigger Touch Area spells -Transforms touch spells into a much better means of crowd control -Also, I just thought it might be cool and after seeing Midas, totally doable, to make such spells into arcs or cones for the area Thanks for bothering to read it, and I hope my idea is both simple enough and cool enough to be put into practice. Edit: I realized I wrote "I remember in Oblivion" when I meant Morrowind...my bad
