Quest Items Not Appearing

I've been having an issue were quest items are not appearing.

 

Whether the item is in a chest or in a corpse they are not there. Also if an NPC gives me a quest item it does not appear in my inventory although I get the message "X item added". I haven't encountered any other major bugs until this point.

 

I tried reloading, re-installing my game and uninstalling all my mods but it still doesn't work.

 

I tried using the show inventory console command on a corpse that has an item I need and I see the item listed but when I search the body he doesn't have it.

Same with me. I'm on console and I can't get the last piece for the Daedric Dagger artifact, and now several other Quest items. Did you recently do the No One Escapes Cidnah Mine quest? That may be interfering with it.

 

 

=Update=

No, I reloaded a past save before I was arrested and went up and fought the Hagraven again and still no "pammer" or whatever.

 

This is really getting annoying... I'll try completing some other quests and it may be that the game is loading, I have started a s***-TON of quests, all of the specialties of each.

I am having the same problem if i use commands to drop the item given to my by the quest person (Klimmek's Supplies) then use commands to give me the same item it shows up in my inventory but if i pickup the one I dropped none of them show up so i cant put the original item (because that's the only one the game cares about) in the chest at High Hrothgar to complete the quest. this is really messing up my game because i think its happening with a lot of the quest items that I am given like Viola's Gold Ring i was only able to see all the other rings i gave my self after i gave viola the ring the quest cared about.

Also i have yet to do or get No One Escapes Cidnah Mine.

I've got the same problem(more or less).

 

Quick summary:

Quest items don't show up in inventory

Picking up quest items doesn't add weight

Quest items can be given, or used

Adding Items with the console does nothing

I've found the Answer!!!! I tried fixing this for DAYS and I finally found out the problem! (a long and boring explanation is not needed) all you need to do is...

 

1) open up your counsel (`)

2) put in the command: setstage MS02 250

3) Hit ENTER to Execute the command

4) EXIT out of your counsel (`)

5) Replace current world state with all your previous saves (keep one save as a 'fail safe')

6) EXIT the game

7) Reopen the game

8) DONE! All quest items will now be restored to the chests, dead bodies, travelers, inventory, ECT.

I had this problem for a long time. The setstage wouldn't work, ms02 stayed on 230 permanently. Here's the fix that worked for me:

 

Whenever I tried to sleep I would get a prompt about serving my jail time. I did this in Markarth at Vlindrel Hall. I'm not sure if it matters where you sleep, but say "yes" to serving your jail time from a normal bed. I woke up on the outside of Cidhna mine with all my previous gear AND quest items. Easiest one to check is your Amulet of Talos. Everything was there and future quests didn't have ghost items any longer!

I thought my save was completely f*#@ed, thank you! This worked for me still in 2021 on SSE.
