Wraithofdoom
i dont know, two handed weapon heavy attacks ALWAYS stagger the opponent, thats pretty usefull. The benefit of one handed is only the fact that you can use a shield, but a two handed warrior is always the best damage dealer. Not that it matters much in high levels.
eltucu
I agree that dual weild long swords has the best damage output of the game. One power attack for killing an ancient dragon on expert. Now that is something (or power attack sneak critical with daggers, it works! ). But, two handed weapons are more fun in the sense that you can block, so you have more ways to approach combat instead of run at the opponent and stab him until one of us is dead (wich was critical if you have an assassin build, with no so much health or armor, and you need to kill things fast if they see you). Well, not so much in the later game. Dragonscale armour is as close as doesn't matter to the armour cap with 100 Smithing. You're still ludicrously tough. Moredhel
+30% magic absorption from the Alteration Atronach perk.+50% magic absorption from the Atronach stone.+30% magic resistance from the Alteration Magic Resistance perks.+50% magic resistance from the Block Elemental Protection perk. for a grand total of 80% magic absorption and 80% magic resistance. The block elemental resistance perk is fun to use. Makes you an Anti-magic god.Don't forget Peryite's shield, Spellbreaker: "While blocking, creates a ward that protects against spells for up to 50 points"
Deleted472477User
I haven't tried it yet, but if it's like many other games, the trade-off is less damage per strike, but you can go the distance and wear the enemy down over time while taking very little damage. As you mentioned, while doing a two-handed weapon you were constantly having to heal yourself. It's possible that spells/enchantments would mitigate this somewhat, but the PITA is acquiring them. I think for single-player, one character games if you're doing a warrior type, a sword and board tank is for sure the way to go.
