Modding a Mod that Mods a DLC: A Noob Asks for Help

Greetings!

 

Not sure if someone asked this before (apologies if they did), but how does one go about modding a mod of a DLC?

 

Do you activate the Fallout esm Master file, the relevant DLC Master esm file and the mod in question's esm (set as active?). Because it's giving me a ton of "warnings" and I can't seem to find the relevant objects I wish to edit.

 

If, for example, you want to change a component in the Manufacturing Extended mod (on the Nexus) which is based on the Contraptions DLC, what/how do you load all the necessary files?

 

 

P.S.: For those familiar with Manufacturing Extended, I'm trying to make the "Component/Object Extractor" be able to also extract Crop items and Purified Water from the Workshop. Trying out something.
