i used darnified ui and MCM together but it seems but has a conflict file "Start_Menu.xml"

if i put the darnified first in priority, mcm doesnt work

if i put the MCM first in priority, Darknified doesnt fully work

i keep looking probably there's a patch that both will compatible but there isn't :(

how do i fix this guys?

See the wiki article "HUD-UI-Menu issues". It grew out of exactly this issue and explains why it occurs and the solution in more detail. Not to say the others' advice is wrong, just that a more detailed explanation may help you understand things better.

You're doing something wrong then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. Install DarNified.
  2. Install MCM without overwriting DarNified.
  3. Install UIO (can be done at any time.)
  4. Play the game.

2. Install MCM without overwriting DarNified.? im using MO and not manual install, and it conflicts with start_menu.xml therefore both mods have start_menu.xml taht conflict each other

I investigated a bit and it seems that you must load DarNified after MCM with MO, because the assets overwrite each other according to load order or some such.

Seems like a pointless overcomplication of things, but there you go. Follow previous instructions, but load DarNified later.

The MO approach as I understand it from others instructions on getting it to resolve this situation, is to move the "Load order" position of Darnified UI after it has been installed, so it will move it's version of the "start_menu.xml" file over that of any previously installed (i.e. MCM), apparently without notice (it wasn't mentioned).

You should be using UIO to merge Darn and MCM. Works seamlessly. The Darn file has all the standard elements of the other HUD plugins version of that file. It only requires manual merging IF some other HUD mod adds specific information to the display and positions it differently than the standard Darn has allowed for. UIO seems to take care of that without user intervention in all the cases I have on my game and listed in that article. If a mod doesn't already have UIO information, it is very easy to provide it yourself by following the simple instructions on the UIO download page.

One correction to Ladez instructions: UIO should be installed last. It scans for all the currently installed UI XML files to build it's list those to be merged together at the time it is installed. If you install another later, you need to uninstall UIO (and the others I point out as making up that "set") and then reinstall so they all find the new files. Failing to understand and do that is why people have problems later on.

[Edit: Ninja'd by Ladez. He is correct ... as far as only those two mods go. However, you still should use UIO to merge both mods. Only those HUD-UI-Menu mods that you desire are needed. But if you do add any of the others later, then refer to that article.]
