I just recently got new vegas to work (finally), i didnt realize i was just missing the dll file. Anyway, i have NVSE installed, and i cant seem to make a short cut like i could FOSE. I was able to just pin the launcher on my taskbar, but when i try to with NVSE it tells me it cannot find the files. Can someone help me out please? Id rather not have to go into my progam 86 files everytime i play this game.

As you are just starting, I have no hesitation in telling you to stop right there and re-install FNV to some folder OTHER than the default of "C:\Program Files(x86)". This will save you TONS of problems down the road. Please see the article "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" in my signature for details on why and how to do this.

A shortcut can't launch a DLL. It only recognizes certain file extensions like ".exe", ".com", ".bat", and ".cmd" as "executables".

You should be using a 4GB patched executable such as the "FNV 4GB Patcher" (to get the use of more than 2GB for the game) which will automatically detect and launch NVSE. (If it doesn't then you installed NVSE wrong. Do not install NVSE with a mod manager, unless you know it understands where it's files go; which is not under the "Data" folder. Neither NMM nor MO handle this correctly last I knew.)

Suggest you read the wiki article "FNV General Mod Use Advice" on the many differences with this game from others you may be used to.

I usually always download my mods manually and install what goes through NMM and what goes into the folder itself, which is how i installed NVSE. I also did install the 4gb enabler. So because i did that, i dont have to use the NVSE launcher? It will just automatically check it and enable? Also, thankyou for your help, i do appreciate it.

That's good to hear that you read installation instructions carefully. You should look into the "Checklist item #4" in the "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide about the "nvse_config.ini" file if you haven't already created it.

Just to be clear: the "FNV 4GB Patcher" linked above, and the older FNV4GB Loader 4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated

are specifically modified to detect and launch NVSE. Applying an LAA flag by some other means is not guaranteed to do so. (It might. It depends upon the specific "4gb enabler" used.)

There should be an "nvse_loader.exe" you could create a shortcut to test if necessary. If you enable the log as described in "Checklist item #4" above, you will be able to confirm it is starting. As it's a library of functions, it doesn't otherwise manifest until some mod uses it.
