Mobility in Settlement Builder Mode

Though I've seen You Tube videos of settlement building. (Well, honestly, mostly Gopher's vids...) I've watched him moving furniture upstairs, or across settlements.

 

I have an odd problem with SB. After entering build mode with the V key, I can build things easily if I have resources available. The problem is that I can't move about to place things properly. I'm rooted to one spot. I can pan about and scroll with my mouse and that's about it. Keyboard movement is non-existent for me.

 

I have a strong suspicion that this is related to remapping my movement keys to the cursor keys rather than the vanilla ASDW. I'm left handed and I find the vanilla setup difficult to work with. With other Bethesda games from Oblivion onward this had never been an issue.

 

I've hunted about the net for information on the keyboard commands for the settlement builder, but so far no joy. I created an account on the Bethesda forums, but can't even reply to a topic for whatever reason... much less start a new thread. And attempts to use the official support page ended in much cussing on my part.

 

I can work around this to some extent... I have to exit builder, move to where I need to build, and open it again. Needless to say, that's a less than ideal kludge when you need to fiddle and tweak alignments and such. The ingame pages don't address much beyond the barest of vanilla. It's a bit frustrating and I'd be grateful if folks here can point me in the right direction.

Consider this resolved. I had to change back to default keybindings to get it to work. Just had to remap the activate button from E, as I was forever trying to move and getting out of power armor. Works fine now, but it's still cramped for a lefty.

I'm a righty but I use the arrow keys for movement and the mouse in my left hand. When I enter workshop mode I change the movement keys to WASD and that will let me move around. It is a little clunky but that is how do it.
