Wael90
Lydia was a massive boost for me, as long as I provided her some good equipment she'd make good use of it. Nonetheless, even if she started taking heavy damage and kneeling to it, it would still give me some good distraction to make my move.
fraquar
Always struggled with the idea of taking a housecarl into battle - who is guarding my house and all my valuables? I think it would be cool if someone made a mod where your house could get pilfered, and say you come home one day and see Lydia standing over a thiefs body in front of your storage chest. Rooker75
In the early game, MarcurioAfter that, JenassaHaven't tried that mage from the Shrine of Azura, think I'll try her next. She's pretty damn good, actually (edit: The mage I meant). I was doing a sword & board run and wanted a ranged companion and she did very well. I was up to lvl ...50? I think before stopping to try another character build. I haven't tried Marcurio yet but she matches what most people are saying about him. I just wish I could get her to wear unarmored enchanted gear without monkeying around in the console. I found a glitch with Lydia that I bet extends to all companions (except maybe J'Zargo?). After you level up, their stats don't seem to change. However, if you fire them, disable them* (in the console), enable them and rehire them, their stats level up like they should. Then you have to look at their inventory (in the console) and remove the default hunting bow again. I really hate how it does that. *edit: I forgot to mention, you have to empty their inventory first, or some gear may disappear.
