After NMM update (0.63.13) I can't activate the mods

All my current mods are blocked out, (red circle with a line crossed though).

When I try to active them a window pops up and disappears so fast that I can't see what it is saying.

I can download a new mod and it will activate properly though.

Any ideas why?

My mods have not been moved from the default folder.

So far, while playing I have not seen any issue of a mod not working. Like the one highlighted, Craftable Showers and toilets, is working fine even though NMM shows that it sin't installed.

The latest versions of NMM are really bad about not properly installing and activating mods. Unfortunately they've also stopped supporting it while they work on a new one from scratch. I suggest either switching to a somewhat older, more stable version of NMM or switching to Mod Organizer 2 which has recently started receiving support again with a new developer.

While I understand the issue happens it doesn't make any sense to me either. Some users say they don't allow Steam to connect to the internet so if I say something like that I'm just being thorough. Close NMM if it's open.

Make sure you are connected to the internet, exit steam and then open it again and let it update if it needs it. Run the Fallout 4 launcher, not F4SE but the launcher itself and make sure you can at least get to the menu screen, then exit Fallout 4. Go to Fallout 4 in Steam and go to the properties tab for the game and click the local files tab, then click Browse Local Files. Make a note of the folder location. Open up NMM and verify that NMM is configured to use the same folder.

If you can't do anything at that point then I don't know enough about the internal workings of NMM. It may be that when it updated last and tried to convert configuration .xml files for installed mods that something went wrong. If you haven't tried all of the following, please do because it does matter. With 6 years of working with Bethesda I know these things cause issues but there is no way to know what is causing your issue. These are just things we always mention, so you have to just try them, sorry.

Run NMM as Admin. Don't install any Bethesda Game in the Program Files folder or even one named that way that you created. It doesn't matter if you know of a way to disable UAC just don't do it. Don't mark any files or folders as read only especially plugins.txt. You can even delete plugins.txt just to be sure because NMM or LOOT can rebuild it easily. Don't manually move your install if it's in Program Files there is a new feature I saw just now and it looks like Steam can move it for you. Set up a library folder in steam on a local hard drive and try out the option to move your install if you need to. It's on the Local Files tab. Don't install to an SSD drive to "test" because they can fail and I only see reports when things don't work, and SSD drives can fail. You are looking for the needle in the haystack so if it's on an SSD use Steam to move it. If you have Kaspersky most certainly disable it. Disable all antivirus, firewall, and malware programs just to see if you can get NMM to behave correctly. Other then that you may have to find the .xml file that tracks which mods you have installed and which mods you have downloaded and delete them for the Fallout 4 mode. I believe the location is shown in NMM because you can change where those files are stored. That's kind of a long shot but might help. All that will happen is NMM will have to build all the files again and record readme files and set up categories again and what not.

Obviously we would all love to just tell you click here and it will magically work.

Found something that people already knew but if you're like me and not smart about mods.

If you have both Settlement Keywords Independent and Settlement Keywords Expanded downloaded and enabled only enable one or the other.

I sat for a few days modding my FO4 from scratch. Everything worked fine, LOOT gave all thumbs up.

I tried a survival mod that was not for me, so i decided to re-mod and start over.

I purchased Far Harbor, and at an instant, my mods stopped loading

Question : Is MO2 stable and the one to go with from now on then?
