So how would I go about making patches in my mod for other mods?

So I'm new to modding and I've created a weapons overhaul mod called Weapon Realism Overhaul.

 

One thing I'd like to do is make some patches for popular weapon mods to make their stats line up with the new overhauled vanilla weapons.

 

I won't be changing anything else but the .esp so the patches won't include the actual textures, models, etc but I wanted to know can I do this and what kind of permissions if any would I need to be allowed to do this?

Technically you don't need permission if you are just copying single records and editing values as overrides into your patch. IF you include a whole entire ESP from the original mod with your edits you'll probably be in trouble.

 

If you don't know how to copy as an override I can make a quick guide for you in about 2-3 hours time.
