Issue with beards.

Hello, any help/insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I'm going insane trying to figure out what's causing this and how to fix it.

Basically, the section of beard by the right ear on my male characters (sideburn you'd call it, I guess) is detached and protruding from the side of their faces. I first noticed it in Oldrim, and when I launched SE, surprise, I had the same problem. I've linked two screenshots showing this here: http://imgur.com/23P0sQ2 and http://imgur.com/oqdGmKA (sorry for the poor quality/low lighting.) Those two screenshots are from SE.

At first I thought it might be the beards mod I'm using causing it, but it's doing it with vanilla beards too. So I uninstalled Faces - YoungerFacesMergedWithMenByGeonox, but the problem still persists. I've uninstalled countless mods that have anything to do with meshes/textures, and this problem still remains. I went into Oldrim and got a screenshot from sculpt in Racemenu that better shows the problem, which you can view here: http://imgur.com/IvHcsD0

As you can see, the section of the face I'm referring to is protruding in the sculpt tool. If I take the beard away, it goes away.

It's not a game breaking issue, buuuuut it's driving me insane and it looks stupid. I'm guessing it's a headmesh issue, but it's only happening when I apply a beard that covers the whole face, and it's happening in both games. I don't know what caused it or how to fix it.

Both Oldrim and SE are pathed to D:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common (I have an SSD drive for windows, it doesn't have a lot of space so I put my most of my games on the D drive)

I run both games on ultra with no issues.

Computer specs:

I'm using an Alienware 17 R3 laptop.

Processor: Intel® Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.6GHz

Memory: 16384MB RAM

Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970M, with an integrated Intel® HD Graphics 530 but both Skyrim's run off the Nvidia

Graphics card ram: 3.0

Both games are fully updated, both have every DLC. My Oldrim has the latest SKSE. I use NMM to install mods, and LOOT to sort load order. I've cleaned all master files.

Here are my load orders for both games:

Since this is happening in both games it must either be caused by a mod I'm using in both, or, it's a hardware/software issue. But I don't know nearly enough about computers to even begin to comprehend how hardware or software would cause this, so if anyone can provide any insight I will be so extremely grateful.

Generally listing out your load order will not show us the texture/mesh files you are using to properly diagnose your problem because they don't have .esps. You may want to post your modlist, not load order.

You may want in the future to move the end of your load order to this:

FNIS

[Animations]

XPMSE

Alternate Start

[anything loot places after]

It seems to work better.

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense, I should have thought of that before posting. Could you tell me the best way to find my mod list? Is this something I can get through NMM or LOOT?

In the meantime, I can list what I have in the NMM categories of "Hair and face models" and "Models and textures" and put them in a cut below.

ApachiiSkyHair - ApachiiSkyHair_v_1_6_Full

ApachiiSkyHair - ApachiiSkyHairFemale_v_1_5

ApachiiSkyHair - ApachiiSkyHairMale_v_1_2

Beards - Beards - 2K Resolution

Better Male Presets - Better Male Presets 1_3

Brows - Brows - High Resolution

KS Hairdos - Renewal - KS Hairdos Renewal

The Eyes Of Beauty - Eye of Beauty NPC eyes texture replacer

The Eyes Of Beauty - The Eyes Of Beauty Dawnguard Update

The Eyes Of Beauty - The Eyes Of Beauty PLAYER

Better males - Beautiful nudes and faces - New hairstyles - Faces - YoungerFacesMergedWithMenByGeonox

DIMONIZED UNP female body - DIMface2

DIMONIZED UNP female body - UNP BASE Main body V1dot2

LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons - All in One Installer

Skyrim HD - 2K Textures - COMPLETE FULL

Static Mesh Improvement Mod

Ultimate HD Fire Effects - Ultimate HD Fire Effects -Medium Resolution-

SOS - Schlongs of Skyrim - 3.00.004

Enhanced Blood Textures

I'm fairly certain those are the only mods I have that make any changes to the textures and meshes of the player character.

Thank you for the load order advice as well.

You've tested this on a new game? If so, you may want to perform a clean install to make sure there are no lingering files from old mods you've used. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/906390-cleaning-skyrim-for-fresh-install/

Once done, reclean your files, reload skyrim so it detects your hardware, and then one by one reinstall your mods until perhaps you can recreate this issue. Then you'll identify the target.

Starting a new game was how I originally discovered this. It's appearing in both new games and old saves.

Since I don't have any saves worth keeping in Oldrim, I actually attempted a reinstall last night. I only installed alternate start to skip the intro, and the problem was still there. However, there are two folders in the link you posted that I didn't realize I should delete, so I'll do that when I get home from work, but I have low expectations that that will solve it.

Do you think this could be something caused by my graphics card or driver? I'm trying to figure out how that could alter a mesh, but I'm totally stupid with that stuff.

Oh! I should also mention that in the sculpt tool in RaceMenu I can actually smooth out the mesh glitch, so for whatever reason the mesh is screwed up but can be altered. So that's a work around in Oldrim. Obviously I can't do this in SE though since there's no RaceMenu, so I'm still beating my head against a wall trying to figure this out.

Thanks for your help! I fear this issue may be unresolvable since there doesn't seem to be any reason for it to be happening. I'll have to just deal with it for now and fix it in Racemenu, and hopefully RaceMenu for SE will be out soon.

If anyone else sees this and has any ideas, do let me know!
