Face textures screwed up after update or hi-rez pack

It's not caused (directly) by the HR Texture Pack I don't think. I'd say It's actually the latest "update" from Bugthesda. Obviously the line in the patch notes about compatibility with the Texture Pack DLC = borked faces unless using vanilla textures. My potato would cry and die If I even thought about using the HR pack, yet I have the bug. Fingers crossed resizing the files works.

According to Ousnius:

 

The game, since patch 1.9.4, forces the head specular maps to be 1024x1024 instead of the previous 512x512 resolution. But this only happens when the game can see that you have " DLCUltraHighResolution " enabled as a plugin.

So, there are exactly two fixes:

1.) Rename the BA2/ESM of the HD DLC to anything else, re-enable it, fixed.

This disables the hardcoded change to 1024x1024.

2.) Resave all specular maps of the LooksMenu Compendium or any other mod ever that edits the head or makeup textures to be 1024x1024 instead of 512x512, but only for users of the HD DLC.

Yep, read that post, but ... I haven't got the HR DLC, and yet I still had the brown face bug on my player characters = used the TexConv script/bat file mod and it was fixed. So obviously the patch from Bugthesda doesn't care if you have the HR pack installed or not, it obviously just decides, No pack = 512, HR pack = 1024 ... As I was running custom face textures that are/were 2048 (the only files I run in my game above 512) I got the bug.
