SkyrimPrefs.ini I Tweak Meaning Help !

Hi everyone ,I'm very curious what those two lines :iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=10 iMaxDecalsPerFrame=30

in my SkyrimPrefs.ini do ?

 

people who tweaked their game and posted all over internet have very different values from mine in there.

these tweak the magic impacts and blood

so max blood and impacts is 30 and the max skinned decals is 10

these are fairly low numbers if you have a medium to high machine

4gb RAM

Phenom II X4 955BE

Skyrim on my system runs pretty good with SkyBoost 50-60 frames

you likely could go higher than this

 

iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=30

iMaxDecalsPerFrame=100

 

play around with those

Your SkyrimPrefs.ini file is being modified by another program and you must either stop the program from modifying the values, or prevent them from modifying the file;

 

 

You have to set the .ini file to "Read Only" after you save it by right-right -> Properties -> Read Only checkbox at the bottom -> Apply.

 

OR

 

Stop Steam or whatever other program that is changing your .ini file values from making their changes.
