stebbinsd
As the mayor of my settlement, I don't think it's my place to provide individual chairs, paintings, and radios for my individual settlers. I think that should their responsibility. My responsibilities as mayor should be providing water, defense, and setting aside zones in my settlements for agriculture (aka planting crops). I'll even give them the beds, since that's the bare necessities when it comes to shelter. But the settlers should be responsible for providing everything else. Imagine if I had the ability to place invisible markers in settlement mode. There would be about 100 different "sets" of markers, so marker 00 would not interact with Marker 01, and so on. The markers would only interact with their own kind. The markers would become corners for invisible borders. Invisible lines would be drawn from one marker to the next marker of the same name. This would create various "zones" that could be assigned. Imagine if each settler could have a marker (and, by extension, the entire zone as dictated by all those markers of the same number) assigned to them as their personal space. A single bed would be placed inside that personal space, and that would cause the Settler to start furnishing it by themselves. Married couples like Marcy & Jun Long could have the same living space assigned to them. Place a building with a single bed inside that living space, and that building effectively becomes their house ... to do with as they place. Where would they get the furnishings for their home? The answer is ... junk stores! Place junk stores in your settlement and the settlers will subsequently buy junk items to place in their living spaces! Anyone else second this request?
