logokas
I was following the exploits of the TESVAL / Skyboost plugins, and i just want to say THANK YOU to Arisu who first brought this out into the light. As i read the patchnotes: Improved compiler optimization settings (PC) Absolutely terrific, i must say. This was one of the main reasons i never properly got into Skyrim, because i run a 120Hz 3D rig, and when i see a game that can barely run above 30 on several occasions, it just feels terrible. And i honestly didn't expect this to be fixed at all because the original thread about the optimization issue was closed for some obscure reason and just died. If there is an official post from Bethesda about this, i would very much like to read it, because i remain curious as to why the optimization wasn't done. Again, thanks, modders! You make this game worthwhile!

It's almost certainly out of fear that it would break the game on some CPU or other that isn't 100% able to do whatever specific SSE2 operation they use, or does it poorly and makes the game actually run slower than simply using x87 math instructions. When you're writing software that has to run on millions of PCs, you have to cater to the lowest common denominator.

Oh well, at least we're getting our fix now.
