Keldis Posted January 20, 2012 Share Posted January 20, 2012 So today i was browsing some of the global values of Skyrim.esm and my eye catched 2 specific values, for one the RealCartOn global value, which lead me to several dialogues in example one that says "I want to Stop at %s" where %s is any city, so i assume that the game has some kind of manual pathing carriage system, after that i spawned a "Cart Driver" after setting the global value to 1 the cart driver had new dialogue options, after i choose one and idle animation began to play in which i mounted an invisble cart, could be a nice way to travel. Another thing is an Arena global value, like ArenaLargeWager, ArenaMediumWager and ArenaSmallWager, so i guess an arena system is already in the game, now making it DLC would be a big fail from bethesda, there are no npcs or locations yet, but the quests and dialogues seem to be there. That's basically what a lot of us have been requesting since the game was out, so it's pretty interesting part of it is in there already. That'll help once the CK is out because we can see probably why it was cut/unfinished and won't need to write it all from scratch. I don't think this has been found before, but either way that's an awesome find DarkenDe. Along with the Arena, maybe I missed something in the game but I found it interesting it mentions EastmarchJail in a few of the dialogues etc when you search for Arena using the console. And who is Huki? Did I miss something or what? I'm going to spawn Huki and see where she goes. Since UESP has no info on her beside basic stuff, I'm going to assume I'm not going on a wild goose chase and try this. Edit - I spawned her and she stands in the Windhelm Barracks in the jail area by default. I also found an unused cell called "WindhelmPitExterior" or something similar. You need to toggle god mode to survive in it, but there's nothing there anyway. It's right outside Windhelm. There is also a Windhelm Pit faction which is also named as ArenaFaction internally. Likely... Additionally, the RealCartOn global value isn't checked in any of the scripts, lending further support that it was CUT or is PLANNED. -MM P.S. Assuming it has ANYTHING to do with it. It'd be interesting to see what the script is supposed to do. I especially find it interesting that one refers to the Blue Palace. In SkyEdit I can pull up an activator called "dunBluePalaceWingArenaStartTRIGGER", which kind of makes me wonder if two arenas were planned. This seems to be related to The Mind of Madness quest rather than a real arena, oh well. Also, there are unused statics I found using SkyEdit. I took some screens I'll upload soon. Two of them were meant to go together, so I set them using setangle and setpos in the console. This is pretty much what the Windhelm Arena would have looked like, but it is missing textures in a couple spots. (Or has some sort of mesh error.) There are also two more statics that don't absolutely fit somewhere, so I just put them to the side. They're in the last picture. Edit - Here are the pictures. Figuring out how the carts and their animations work was one of the first things I studied in Skyrim, real travel should be a piece of cake for a modder as soon as we have the CK. Yeah that would be really great, as i myself am a no fast travel user and do all my traveling with my horse, so this would be a lovely addition, i also tested some more things about it, it seems that the Carts from the beginning of the game could be link refed to the "Cart Driver" template npc, if we could do this, we could have some kind of manual traveling like in the beginning of the game, oh and the travel dialogue is triggered by a quest called DialogueCarriageSystem and this quest is in turn connected to a VMAD entry, so hopefully the CK will let us renenable it, aswell as explore more about the arena scripts.
