Standalone armor using Skyedit, how to replace textures?

I'm trying to make an armor I downloaded from skyrim nexus a standalone. It's a texture replacer for the nord plate armor. I created copies of the editor id's for the nordplate, created copies of the armatures. Changed the meshes of the armatures with renamed nord plate meshes so they wouldn't all use the textures. What I'm stuck at is how to make these new meshes use my different textures. I don't see an option to change the path in skyedit. So how do I make these meshes use my path instead of vanilla textures?

Nevermind, I was able to figure it out on my own.

You're going to have to make renamed copies of the mesh, alter it's texture paths in NifSkope (these are stored in the mesh itself, not a plugin) and rename and/or move the textures to a different location than where the replacer textures belong.

Thank you.

Did'nt quite work out as i had hoped. If i activate my mod Skyrim crashes as soon as i try to load a save, and trying to start a new game results in the game getting stuck with the main menu animation running and intro music looped endlessly.

Back to the drawing board >_<

Edit: Found this guide after my first post. Made the mod following it; h..ttp://pastebin.com/tRcCS538 (remove the dots)
