Twitchy1996
Remember the incredible, magical feeling you got when you first played DA:O; have you, like me, felt that feeling disappear in the Dragon Age Sequels? Hate how EA/Bioware has retconned perfectly decent plot lines (So is Fiona Alistair's mother? I thought his mother was dead, or at least, she was according to Goldanna? Or altered the personalities of characters (Anders)? Or sucked the mystery from Flemeth by making her an Elven goddess, and having given her a ridiculous new look? The Dark Fantasy of Dragon and the magical, mysterious feel it had seems to have been drained away by the later installments, so I have a proposal. We should create an Origins only canon, editing the title screen of the game to reflect this and editing the epilogue slides to wrap up all the storylines in DAO. I already have some ideas. A non-hardened Alistair king ruling alone might see Orlais reconquer Ferelden. Or, if the Warden let Flemeth live, Morrigan might be posessed by her mother. The Awakening epilogue could reflect the devastation brought to Thedas by a living architect. Or a hardened Alistair might marry Celene Valmont to fight off an invasion of Ferelden by the Qunari. We could speak of the sixth and seventh blights. I am new to the DA toolset, and I would appreciate any help in figuring out where the epilogue texts are stored. They are not in the tlk, and though they might be in image format, I do not yet know how to browse the textures in the game. And, of course, and ideas on the new epilogue will be incorporated and accredited. Just need to figure out the technical aspects.
theskymoves
Epilogue slide text for DAO is a dialogue file: Conversation>Epilogue>cutscene_slideshow; not sure which TLK DAA stores the slides in offhand, but they are definitely in there somewhere. To browse the images that play along with the situation-dependent text, you'll need to extract them first from the ERF archive; they aren't viewable (AFAIK) in the toolset. That would be *checks to make certain of the path* [game install directory]\Dragon Age\packages\core\data\gui.erf and \Dragon Age\packages\core_ep1\data\gui.erf Files can be extracted from ERFs with the toolset, though I prefer to use pyGFF for that task.
