AdioPinoy
Dark, why would we want to run without f4se when the mods we use require it. The question was not how to run without it......everyone already knows they can do that. The question was how to fix the problem, not ignore it. kevkiev
I do have the compatible version of F4SE for my Fallout, but it still doesn`t load. It just crashes. "Thanks for the help! After I updated the mods, the script loader works ... " Well, what exactly did you do so I can follow you please ? Yesterday my Steam updated as soon as I got to my desktop ( it was setup that way since I started playing 1 year ago and I did not know about the F4se new software ) so I let it because as I said, I did not know about the new F4se ... obviously, I got the same message that everybody got when I tried to launch my game via F4SE .... last night I played my game via Steam and one mod was not working but every thing else was perfect ... 5 minutes ago I changed my Steam game setup to "Only update this game when I launch it" and my F4SE is still not working ... so, you said that you have the compatible version, how did you get it ? Also, you said that after you update your mods, the script loader is working ? Ok, how in the first place did you get the compatible version so I can also update my mods please ? Thanks ... Follow the link that Crypto posted, to update to the latest F4SE. And then (or before) update every one of your mods that uses F4SE - assuming they've been updated for the latest F4SE but it usually happens pretty fast (although I wonder when authors are going to start getting sick of this not-so-merry-go-round). You'll be good until the next CC crap update. However, you will be able to rely on the "update only on launch" if you 1. start the game through the F4SE launcher and (this is critical) 2. Always ensure that you run the steam launcher (not the game, just steam) at some point in your session before running the F4SE launcher. (I'm in the habit of doing that first thing I boot my computer.) You have to have the steam background processes running when you launch F4SE otherwise it'll just trigger the update (if one's pending). And those processes start when you first launch steam (again, not the game, just steam - the one that takes you to your library or whatever your steam home page is) and continue running in the background even after you close it. (You can check the "processes" in your task manager to see the ones I'm talking about.) And, of course, if you do this to continue playing while an update is pending, whatever you do don't go into the game with the vanilla launcher to tweak resolution/ texture quality or any other setting otherwise you'll trigger the update. Edit: Oh, crap, I didn't realize I was responding to a year old post.
