Sthom1968
There are two faction in the civil war and, to my mind, neither are joinable from a RP viewpoint. The Stormcloaks are only viable if you're a Nord supremacist; all other races are "outsiders" who shouldn't even be in Skyrim. This is perhaps too big to be overcome without a fundamental change in Stormcloak ideology, which would require a rescripting of SO much dialogue as to be an almost complete rewrite of the lore. The Imperials, not to put too fine a point on it, tried to cut my head off! I take this personally... Tullius already mentions he "remembers you from Helgen" when you meet him in Solitude. All it would take for joining the Imperials to be more believable from a roleplayer's viewpoint is for him to apologise for the error in summarily sentencing you to death, perhaps with some small amount of monetary compensation for the offence. Simple? It doesn't sound like much, but I think it would make the RP experience better.
Korodic
well.... you did try to hop the border afterall. But the again they should have jailed you not cut your head off. Really that imperial officer was just showing off for Tullius, I gladly beheaded her >.>.
katling
Why would Tullius apologise or compensate you? He still has no proof that you weren't up to mischief even if you have come to join the Imperial Army and you don't have any proof that you were completely innocent. Why should he simply trust the word of a complete stranger? In fact, for all he knows, you're a Stormcloak spy come to infiltrate his army and take it down from the inside. Given the circumstances of how you were caught, he should really be way more suspicious and you should have to do much more to prove your loyalty. Actually I have to agree with the original post... the main reason I haven't is the complete lack of a trial. If someone were to do this type of thing, perhaps something where he apologizes based on the players rank or fame or w/e it's called in skyrim - the idea that the player's accomplished so much for the province he realizes the error of his ways and forgives even the possibility of crimes. Either way though...they ordered my death. That makes me grumpy.
