Elazul2k
I have decided on the race Mystic Elf. I finally choose all the mods that I want to use ect ect ect. The one thing that should have been on the front of my mind that I can't decided now that I am at the end of the sewer is what class do I want to be. I am asking for people's opinions on what class I should choose or what a good custom class hybrid would be for a thief/mage type of character. I plan on doing both thieves guild and mage's guild. I want it to be good aligned RP wise. I plan on being close combat so I would prefer blade and destruction be in there but really I have no idea what to choose. Was thinking nightblade but I dunno or possibly battlemage. I can't decide! Arrrggghhh! lol... Anyways, any help would be useful! Thanks in advance! EDIT: Don't know if it makes a diff but I am using the PC version.
Elazul2k
When I mean close combat I mean I want to be able to use both sword and spells for fighting depending on what I feel like atm. I would just choose mage but I kinda feel like haivng a sneaky element EDIT: Ok I was thinking about this: Agility, Intelligence for attribs or would Willpower and something else? BladeSneakLight ArmourDestructionRestorationAlterationIllusion or would it be better to get rid of sneak and replace it with another magic school? Because I was thinking that later on when I can become 100% invisible sneak would be useless for the most part(as light armour would as well I am thinking)... or I could get rid of illusion for something else. Looking for input. Thanks in advance again!

Looking for input. Thanks in advance again! Well think of it this way. The 7 major skills you choose get a +25 to the stat, so it's just a head start. Major skills also gives you your level-ups. So since you are going to be a hybrid, mixing in blade or blunt with destruction is good. And its your choice if you want to be "sneaky," and in that case stick with sneak, but if you don't want to be sneaky, then I'd replace sneak with either conjuration or alchemy because those are really easy to level up and they help with moneymaking(alchemy) and soultrapping/close trainin(conjuration). Everything else is fine, and for your two prefered attributes which you said was agility and intel. Well, agility really goes on the strength of your marksmanship, your sneak, and security so whether you decide on the thief part of your hybrid, then good choice. If you think you won't need it, then just get willpower and intel. If you are going to be a theif, then do wither willpower/intel and agility. OR you could do agility/intel/willpower and luck b/c luck is an attribute that helps your other attributes. But hey this is my opinion, I would say just trust your instincts, besides if you ever want to change your class then just go to your command log and type in showclassmenu, and then you can change your class again. So good luck
GenghisKhanIT
I suggest NOT to take conjuration, alteration or illusion as major. They simply level up so quickly with use that you will be able to reach Apprentice in two days game time. Following my suggestion: OK BladeOK SneakOK Light ArmourOK Destruction+ Alchemy+ Restoration+ Acrobatics OR Athletics OR Marksman if you want to Attributes: Agility or Intelligence, avoid Willpower.Specialization: MagicBirthsign: Thief would be nice, Mage if you want more emphasys on casting. Also, avoid 100% Chameleon or Invisibility too often, it really makes the game boring in the long run.
kyu1x
haha well thanks for correcting me as well. I just realized that conjuration and alteration are too easy to level up. silly me...
Elazul2k
How would this sound? Agility/IntelligenceSpec: MagicBirthsign: Mage MarksmanLight ArmorSneakDestructionRestorationIllusionMysticism I want to be more spell like. I would play a pure mage, but from time to time I want to sneak around and snipe things I think. As spells don't get sneak damage bonus... unless I could find a mod that makes it do that... that would be nice lol. If that was the case I would just make a pure mage with light armor(drop the alchemy) and set something heavy on a key for a few hours while I "sneak" into a wall near a guard and go watch a few Naruto Shippuden episodes. GenghisKhanIT
I already give you the advice not to take Illusion as major, but replace it to Alchemy. First of all because Ill increases too quickly, but also because the 2nd raises your intelligence (useful), the 1st raises Personality (useless). Moreover, if you want to do some sneak sniping, the poisons you will be able to prepare with Jour/Exp Alchemy are really devastating. But, it is your game, so do as you prefer ! Elazul2k
Well the thing with alchemy is that it levels really really fast for me as I use it alot so its not really an issue of having as a major. Though I might check this build out: BladeMarksmanLight ArmorDestructionIllusionMysticismRestoration I can train sneak up real "fast" while I watch a movie later on and then the build would be g2g imho. Favoring this but no clue what I would set the attributes to or if it should be magic or stealth spec'ed.

Choosing a specialization means that all the major skills related to that class receive a starting +5. Also, major skills belonging to your class' specialization will increase faster (~25%) with use.In your case a good choice could be combat: with the right race selection you could start with Either Marksman or Blade at 40. Both of them are very slowly increased with use. Also, these skills directly increase damage per hit with that weapon class, so you are more dangerous right from the start.Magic specialization would increase further your level-up speed because 4 major skills out of 7 are magic-related, and 2 out of those 4 are already very quick to train.
