kevkiev
One was destroyed during an attack, and it looks like an empty planter filled with soil but no tato plants. I get the repair screen when hovering over it in workshop mode but it just reads "repair with" i.e. there's nothing following the "with". Hitting "e" for repair does nothing but change the option for "e" to "place". I can select it in console and use the command "setdestroyed 0", which brings total food up to where it was before the attack but there's still no tato plant in the planter and, although other planters show how much food they produce, it doesn't show that after "repairing" via console. I'm hesitant to use the console command in case it screws something up (though I don't know what). I found nothing on Wiki or elsewhere on the net. Edit: okay, nvm, I think just hitting "place" after "repair" does the trick. It doesn't seem to do anything at first, the planter looks the same and total food production is down like right after the attack. But I fast traveled away then back to graygarden and there were tatos growing out of the planter again and food production was back to pre-attack levels. Kodiak412
I have found that all the vanilla placed tato plants can be somewhat problematic when they are destroyed. Many will remain destroyed and when you repair them they use up a tato but do not fix the plant. Early after the games release some people reported this and someone gave a work around fix. When you just get access to a settlement with tatos go into workshop mode and store all the tato plants. Then replant them and they will now be fixable if they are destroyed in an attack. I have been following this advise after I experienced this repair issue with tatos and I have never had that problem again. It is a little more difficult with the Greygarden planters but I have found that if I just travel away from the cell, when I return they have all repaired themselves and did not need anything more from me. Good luck.
TheGadget1945
There's a Mutfruit at Finch Farm which is permanently damaged and cannot be repaired.
kevkiev
So far I've been lucky in this playthrough, but I recall hitting plants that you just couldn't hi-lite in workshop mode to repair. Drove me nuts. Sometimes it was just wonky hitboxes but at least once or twice I couldn't hilight them for the life of me. I now leave lots of space between plants, and rearrange crops that already are in settlements. Maybe that's helped. I'll keep the vanilla-tato advice in mind too. I'll try to remember to nuke the pre-existing tatos in my rounds. (That's a problem I don't want to encounter. Settlements are enough of a pain in the butt as is.) Oh, and I always nuke gourds and melons, gawd those things take up so much space (not to mention hovering above ground if you try to plant new ones.) Fatalmasterpiece
Maybe you can scrap it with scrap everything and rebuild a new one.
snapper69
I use a food generator, which I put on the roof of my tallest building and surround it with minigun turrets.
