Brown faced npcs?

Hello, after playing Skyrim SSE for a little while, I started noticing a few random npcs with a dark brown face and a completely different skin tone. I'm pretty sure the cause of this is because of my mods, but I'm not sure which ones are conflicting. I have a few oldrim mods as well if it's important. Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just try and ignore it?

does it occur for male npcs aswell? I have RS children, Sofia follower and some other mods aswell but I can't seem to identify the source of the occuring brown faces but when looking on my mods and this list I suspect rs children but I don't really see how it should be possible since I think the problem lies in the texture folder- facegeom or facetint for both female or male in my case

This is generally due to either missing textures. I would first suggest you reinstall all of your texture/mesh mods that apply and overwrite others. This may include some mods that aren't necessarily skin mods. Make sure that your body meshes/textures are toward the bottom of your load order.

On a side note, I would suggest you move XPMSSE down to the bottom of your load order just above Alternate start.

 

My general load order will be:

Skyrim

Update

DLC

USSLEP

[.esms]

[utility mods]

[.esps]

[Texture mods] (mods that make skyrim look better)

[body texture/meshes]

FNIS

[Animation mods]

XPMSSE

Alternate start

[whatever LOOT sorts after]

Yeah, it happens with males, too. I've only noticed it on elves and random female humans. Every time I've encountered this problem, the npc is dead, as well which is kinda weird. I'm surprised this is happening because the only other time this has happened to me was when I had Bijin warmaidens and scoped bows conflicting..

 

As for the missing textures, I'll try reinstalling everything like you said as well as moving xpmsse. Thanks for the advice! I do have ECE's face meshes installed because of it being a "requirement" for UNP for no neck seam, so maybe that's causing the problem?
