4+ GB RAM on 32bits OS

I know this is a noob questions, yet i feel more noobish for not knowing

So, i have a 32bit OS with 4 GB RAM installed

The OS says i have 3.2 usable RAM

I guess skyrim, with the latest patch enabling the use of more than 2GB, uses the 3.2 GB the system recognize as usable, not the 4 i have totally, and any addition of RAM would be useless w/o changing OS

also what utility can i use to show me how much RAM is used during the game?

Virtual Memory <> RAM.

Virtual Memory = Space on HDD to be used for swap-data.

tip : Set it straight to 1.5 times of your ram, so, i woul go with 4096 MB in your case. To do so :

Start->System-configuration ->Hardware ->advanced ->the first one on this page (from top).

Don't let the System decide, give it from "4096" to "4096".

This way the VM stays the same, which really is a little "boost" as all data written in there keeps written in there on the same place so far.
