Weapons and Armor Statistics Overhaul

I had an idea and hope someone rolls with it.

 

I would like to see the weapons and armor system take on race and constellation attributes for changes in how powerful they are rather than switching from an iron sword to an elven sword for a more powerful weapon.

 

I think all weapons (according to their class; i.e, swords, axes, maces) and armors (according to their class, i.e. heavy, light) should have the exact same attributes. For example, iron, steel, elven, orcish swords should all be the same. However, their attributes should be different. An orcish sword has different benefits than an iron sword, ect. Same thing with armor. Base should be the same. In this way, you can really customize your character the way you want.

 

Also, I always thought it looked weird for an orc to be dressed in elven armor. In addition to the above idea, I think races using their own race equipment should receive bonuses. Elves using elven armor and weapons should receive a bonus. Humans using iron or steel should receive a bonus. ect.

 

This is just an idea. As I said, I hope someone takes it and makes something of it.

I would like to think that the race you select directly affects what weapons and armor you choose. In addition, concerning how much damage you do with a weapon, should depend on your one-handed / two-handed weapons skills and also how well you can smith the weapon. Same goes for armor. I would really like to see somebody do something with this mod idea. If anybody is interested and pursues it, please post here to give me peace of mind :)
