LoginToDownload
Shade has its own skills but posessed body's stats. How would that work with Intelligence/Willpower, and to a lesser degree Agility? I don't really think one has to go out of their way. With the standard posession thing, the shade would just be invincible and in control (But, really, is the one casting the spells) and the NPC moving/attacking/taking hits, so it all seems to work out. The idea about fast and slow posessing was very good, but a minigame whould be best. What kind of minigame could you do? Lockpicking of the soul, with the lock difficulty and your lockpick-number determined by Willpower attributes? Unfortunately, new minigames for such a thing strike me as exceedingly difficult to make, and I prefer purely stealth and stat-based over lockpicking. You can see more development on who you can posess as you level up. Cannot cast spells can be done by silence. The way I set it up was sort of intentional. I kind of like that the Shade can cast spells, but needs to be drawing off a human to get any magicka, and leaks it while not posessing. (But can still use magic, while it lasts) No inventory can be done by 0 strength (and burden if neccessary)I think the Rule of Fun comes in here. Does it really seem fun, being completely unable to hold items apart from your posessed body, making it a huge pain to transfer items from one to another? Especially if one's going to want a sizable supply of soul-snacks? (Four aliteration combo!) Leaving a body takes long time.I don't really see why... You'd think it would be quicker to leave than to enter. Dispel will kill sahdes too. Silence paralyzes.(not sure about these)Inherently magical creatures then, instead of your more traditional ghost-based undead? Makes their innate Magicka problems seem especially weird... kraigor
this sounds very interesting would be a few hours of fun if it was made .so LoginToDownload are you actully working on this ?
LoginToDownload
Well, sort of... I'm in the middle of a collab, but am waiting on someone else, so I'm definitely tinkering with it... And running into problems at every turn. :PEDIT: But in all likelihood, nothing's ever going to come of it... Quite a few insurmountable-looking things turning up like checking the NPC's weapon reach... The game is a pain about making actors actually attack. DZmaster
SHAD'S MUST NOT HAVE INVENTORY, or they are going to live one minute in one body and next minute in another body. Int and Wilp wil be shade's , but other stats will be from possessed body. Agreed with that idea about casting spells as a shade Ok, shade can leaving body will be fast, but shade cannot leave a body in battle. PS: all undead ARE magical
LoginToDownload
SHAD'S MUST NOT HAVE INVENTORY, or they are going to live one minute in one body and next minute in another body.Oh, you want bodies to be a long-term investment... That seems like it would take a lot of the fun out of it, to me, and doesn't really mesh well with the idea of steadily weakening the host. No fun in changing bodies and being down to full iron armor or such. Int and Wilp wil be shade's , but other stats will be from possessed body. You still never really explained this one. Due to the way the posession would work, without messing with the stats at all, all the host's physical stats would matter for the human and all the shade's mental ones would matter for the shade. Ok, shade can leaving body will be fast, but shade cannot leave a body in battle. Why not? Leaving a body in-battle strikes me as a blast. Perhaps the combatant can get an intelligence-check to see you exit him and change combat targets. PS: all undead ARE magicalThe Forlorn Watchman aside, (Who I would say is both undead and non-magical) even if they're magical, they're not magic. You don't see Flame Atronachs collapsing because of a silence spell. But, again, sadly, unless my/Oblivion's modding capabililty in this area changes vastly, it's almost definitely not going to happen.
